Could
Comprise, Compromise, or both?
They will accomplish this by lowering the denominator and the standard of living expectations for Americans.
Solar panels could cover half of US. Landfills expected to quadruple shortly after.
If we kill half the people, and move the survivors into caves and subsist on nuts and berries, this prediction COULD come true.
> This future also depends on extensive public investments... <
Well, there you go. This scheme will push most of us back to the 18th century. But some well-connected folks will get rich. So I guess it’s all good.

half the power, in the daytime, between 11am&2pm, maybe... feh

Once we are set on this path, we then will be introduced to a new term: energy budgets.
Now, you can use all the electricity you want, as long as you can pay for it.
That will not work in a world where electrical capacity is limited by political factors and renewable capacity. It’s going to be pretty tough to heat or cool a 2,500 square foot house when they cut you off. You’ll be labeled a wastrel, thinking only about your own comfort — We’ve got a planet to save.
Then there is the pollution problem in replacing and disposing of the old solar panels, they can’t be recycled, at least not now, so then what, huge landfills of old solar panels and wind turbines.
Gosh it’s 1976 all over again
This time headed up by that noted electrical engineer Jenny Granholm who never cracked open a physics text in her lifetime
What could go wrong?
Just ask Texas
Solar Power is the future, and always will be.
Folks, check out NYS and tell me how you think that’s working out for us.
Hint: We’re the canary in the mine shaft and we’re croaking.
Well, you can’t say you weren’t warned.
Is shoveling up the dead birds a Green Job?
I will provide half of America’s power supply, only if we reduce our current power consumption by 95%. (SWAG)
