Denver will temporarily shut down a park that has devolved into a haven for drug users, crime and human waste.
Civic Center Park and the adjacent areas will close beginning next Wednesday “until further notice” as the city cleans up and restores the green space.
“The current challenges within Civic Center Park have reached a tipping point, creating conditions that put the public’s health and safety at risk,” Mayor Michael Hancock said in a statement.
“This is the people’s park and we are taking steps so that everyone can once again feel safe and welcomed there,” the mayor said.
Officials said over the past “several months” conditions at the park have deteriorated.

Yeah, they have a woke woman Democrat mayor running, I mean ruining, the place, it’s a university town and Californians are moving there in droves.
they’ll spend millions restoring the park then reopen it to the bums, misfits, and criminals, and it will once again become a hell hole.
Even as recently as 2010, I found Denver to be a very nice city. It’s really gone to hell in the last 5 years.
Biggest mistakes in US history:
1- Slavery, and not returning people to their native lands
2- Allowing women to vote and hold office
3- Not treating our southern border like the DMZ
Take a look at this story from Seattle. They have since “swept” the encampment but they will be back, IMHO.
It seems like this problem exploded. Too many burnt out and current addicts make up the majority of the ones I encounter. It just so happens that Seattle has decriminalized ALL DRUGS including meth and heroin for personal use, so has Denver, SF, LA and Portland.

Dems can’t do the difficult but necessary big boy work that’s required of them, so they just shut it all down. The only plus side to this is that our local Antifa children will have one less place to congregate for their weed meetings. By the way, this is where Michelle Malkin was assaulted by those pussies at her rally. Next time she tries this, I hope we have enough lead time to get our own show of force there.
Vancouver, BC? They have government supported heroin injection sites there. I heard a council person now wants to provide “safe” government approved Heroin to be distributed free at these sites. Too much Fentanyl don’t have know.

A temporary shut down isn’t going to fix anything.

Denver was a dangerous town when we lived there back in 1953.

Colorado used to be a favorite place to visit, mostly because of their great western scenery. None of it showing in E. Colorado, though. Denver gradually became worse & worse. Now, I see no point in even crossing the state line. It’s a scary place to visit now. I live in an adjoining state.
Yeah, that’s the ticket. Clean it up, plant new grass and bushes, paint everything, and polish everything so it really shines. Then hold a Grand Reopening party.
Stand back and watch the happy young families strolling through the park in their finest clothes under the sunshine and birds chirping, happy kids playing on the playground, the sounds of barbecues and picnics.
All will be grand again! And the druggies and bums will have learned their lesson and won’t ever return. Nope, they will move on.

There’s that. But cities are scared to death of the lawsuits that flood in when they clamp down on bums and druggies as part of an effort to restore civic order. There are many groups that still sue to prevent the infringement of the bums’ civil liberties. These groups still believe that “homelessness isn’t a crime.”
Homelessness, bums, druggies, etc are just one element of the bigger communist plot to destroy America from within. It cannot be a mere coincidence that every single one of our traditional institutions is under six decades of simultaneous withering assault.
