The more we cover the COVID crackdowns from Australia, the worse the situation over there seems to be. The government of South Australia, Tyler O'Neil reported for Fox News, is implementing a program for people to use an app that has facial recognition software and geolocation to prove they are abiding by a 14-day quarantine requirement.
Here's how it works, as explained by O'Neil:
Steven Marshall, premier of the state of South Australia, launched the quarantine app policy in late August. Residents returning from New South Wales and Victoria, two other Australian states, may spend their 14 days in post-travel quarantine at home, rather than in a hotel, so long as they download and use the "Orwellian" app, developed by the South Australian government, ABC News Australia reported.
The app uses geolocation and facial recognition software to track those in quarantine. The app will contact people at random, asking them to provide proof of their location within 15 minutes.
"We don't tell them how often or when, on a random basis they have to reply within 15 minutes," Marshall said.
If the resident cannot verify his or her location or identity when requested, the South Australia Health Department will notify the police, who will then conduct an in-person check on the person in quarantine. Marshall said the government will not be storing any of the information provided to the app.

A few misconceptions. Australia is following the model they used with the Spanish Flu. Quarantine for anyone who currently has the flu at their place of residence if possible. For those entering South Australia from out of the country or neighboring states that are currently suffering outbreaks, there is a mandatory 14 day hotel quarantine much like Hawaii does.
This app allows those entering the state to do a home based quarantine instead of hotel. It lowers cost and accomplishes the same goal. As there is no security at your home unlike the quarantine hotels, the app is used instead. People entering the state know the quarantine rules and choose to go there anyway. The app is entirely voluntary as a way to avoid hotel quarantine at you own expense.
The app is the premier’s (governor) way of reducing government interaction and cost to the people in his state and a pathway to ease travel restrictions. The premier of South Australia is a much greater friend to freedom than many of the other state’s premiers.
While many may not have agreed with how Australia has handled the plandemic, it was a historical choice they followed, not that different from several U.S. states. I wish we had the South Australian premier here in Western Australia instead of the left wing bastard that we do have.
I guess they don’t realize that one of the Android developer options is to spoof your phone’s location (developed for testing purposes), so this can easily be bypassed?
