Rolling Stone magazine has been called out for publishing an inaccurate story Saturday about hospitals in Oklahoma being overrun by Ivermectin overdoses.
The Rolling Stone story reported that the number of Ivermectin drug overdoses have so overwhelmed hospitals that gunshot victims have been unable to get medical treatment. Ivermectin is an anti-parasitic drug that has a human version but is more commonly used for deworming livestock.
In an interview with local Southeastern Oklahoma station KFOR, a rural Oklahoma physician Dr. Jason McElyea spread many of the same falsehoods.
“The ERs are so backed up that gunshot victims were having hard times getting to facilities where they can get definitive care and be treated,” he said.“All of their ambulances are stuck at the hospital waiting for a bed to open so they can take the patient in and they don’t have any, that’s it,” said Dr. McElyea. “If there’s no ambulance to take the call, there’s no ambulance to come to the call.”
In response to that interview and the Rolling Stone piece, the Northeastern Health System (NHS) – Sequoyah released a statement claiming Dr. Jason McElyea “is not an employee of NHS Sequoyah”, he also hasn’t worked at that hospital in over two months nor have they treated any patients for Ivermectin overdoses. Yeah, everyone outside of Democrat controlled cities are idiots, particularly in deep, deep red Oklahoma. I don’t think people are buying that narrative anymore.
All utter BS. First, KFOR isn’t a southeastern or northeastern Oklahoma TV station. It’s based in OKC. The Tulsa stations cover northeastern and ,ost of southeastern Oklahoma. And as for that pic…we have been enduring the hottest weather of the summer the past few weeks. So no one is wearing coats or winter clothes.
Exactly- especially the latter...50 years later they are now the biggest Zeppelin fans
“Wow, Oklahoma must have really cold late summers according to the Rolling Stones photo of the hospital waiting lines....”
And this was the caption on the picture:
“Gunshot victims left waiting as horse dewormer overdoses overwhelm Oklahoma hospitals, doctor says”
Not only is it really cold in August in Oklahoma, they must have some really superficial gunshot wounds, too, if the victims can stand outside in a line.
Doctors and nurses are NOT your friends, generally speaking. This isn’t the fifties, any more...
LOL...who's holding their breath on that one?
He lied?
And here I was thinking there was hundreds of gun shot victims every weekend in Podunk Oklahoma.
Forced to wait due to them mean old anti vaxxers.
Yow! Considering it was a flat lie, seems to me he could (and should) lose his state medical license for that. And it's certainly something the hospital could sue his butt for as well--since it's damaging to their reputation, it wasn't an accidental-misspeak, and he acted (utterly) recklessly.
Rachal Maddow even tweeted a lie that people were showing up at the Oklahoma hospital blind after taking the Ivermectin.
Boy, did Chris Hayes get fat.
In the last decade, an average of 589 Oklahoma died each year from guns. By far, the largest share of those deaths was from suicide, with an average of 405 Oklahomans who shot themselves from 2007 to 2016, according to the Oklahoma State Department of Health. An average of 173 Oklahomans annually were victims of gun homicide in the same period.
Chicago ends 2020 with 769 homicides as gun violence surges
Oklahoma, the entire state, had about 173 homicides.
I listen to DoctorRadio on Sirius/XM. The MD host of Emergence Medicine said last week in response to a question about COVID and the vaccine “Do NOT take zinc” (as prophylactic) He repeated it over and over; and then added “It cause stomach upset”.
It is hard to listen to DoctorRadio any more because of all the BS
Fact-checking only matters when it furthers the preferred narrative.
In addition to every other facet of this story already having been disproven, how many gunshot cases do they have pet hospital per day??? Sounds like all 10 ambulances from the entire town area full of gunshot wounds working outside the hospital, and the 20 other gunshot sounds can’t get an ambulance.
OD on ivermectin? Diarrhea and upset stomach.
Possible consequences of the jab? death.
Inaccurate? Totally fabricated.
Not currently working due to currently being a mental health inpatient?
Gotta keep the sheeple in line. Follow the $$$$.
