I don’t feel bad for these people. There’s plenty of “Now Hiring” signs out there.

Yea people need to get back to work. Every business is short on workers. My babysitter has an agency and they can’t find sitters even at $18/hr. Restaurants here have maybe three people working (furiously). Friend works for a hotel and they had to pay $25/hr for a dish washer at the restaurant. That’s $50k a year plus benefits.

Exactly. Even before Covid, employers were begging for workers. If Biden really wanted to help the economy, he'd kick all these lazy slackers off unemployment, and boost GDP in the blink of the eye. But instead of making it painful to be out of a job, the Democrats incentivize being a layabout:—free phones, free internet, free food, free housing, free utility bills, free medical, ad infinitum.

According to some article I have read, the unemployment rate is lower in States that already have terminated the supplemental unemployment payments. Jobs are plentiful. So, the only “cliff” these people will fall from is one of their own choosing.

Fast food is paying workers $12-$14 /hr in small town Tennessee. Many places can’t get enough help to keep the dining rooms open and are drive thru only.
