There’s a “devastating” unemployment cliff up ahead, and around 7.5 million Americans are about to fall off of it, according to a report by progressive public policy firm The Century Foundation.

That’s because expanded federal unemployment benefits provided by the American Rescue Plan earlier this year are ending on Sept. 6 — if they weren’t already canceled in your state.

In NoVa for e-commerce. Sell stuff online for a good cause. Test video games, take pictures of random donated items and describe them. Sell and ship them. Make money for the good cause. Grow customers trust by selling good stuff and listening to them.

Had job postings up since March, many different venues and even signs on the door and street. No serious applicants, offered the job to a few. They seemed happy to get the offer. One said yes. didn’t show. Then said no in a txt. One said no thanks, I mean it was immediate. And I thought he wanted it. It don’t pay much but not bad compared to other shops and is way better then most pay.

Pm me if you got a candidate. Lol

I am hiring. Can’t get none to apply. Maybe they will once this ends.

Unless you tell us how much the job pays then it is meaningless.

Here’s what ticks me off….never took a dime from the Government in my life, served active duty 5 years at age 17, didn’t take a mortgage bailout during the housing bust, paid my mortgage and sold breaking almost even. Worked everyday through the pandemic in the public. So, folks got mortgage bailouts, credit card forgiveness, free rent, boosted unemployment while I continue working like a schlep. When do the responsible folks get their just due?

Restaurants in MA closing because they can’t get help.

So are the owners going to get real jobs? Or what?

“When do the responsible folks get their just due?”

Personal satisfaction that you weren’t a drag on the taxpayers and the schmucks that were parasites will soon rue their life choices?

Too bad no one is interested in trucking. Long hours, but great money after the first couple of years - especially if one buys their own truck. $125K/yr is not hard to come by.

“Just in time to fire millions for not getting the vaccine.”

*****

Jab before Job.

Maybe that’s why benefits are being allowed to expire.

Sounds good. Beats washing dishes.

They’re just going to ignore the SC ruling and extend it anyways.

I doubt it is in your paygrade. I’m looking for entry-level 17 an hour tops to start. Can’t find nobody.

My daughter invested hers in a nursing degree which will of course increase her income. And she doesn’t owe any student loans on it. It’s paid in full.
