You see, today’s (Aug 31 2021) measured Antarctic Sea Ice Extent is actually the fifth-highest ever recorded for this date (2021 is slight below 2010,2006, 2013, and 2014 levels for 31 August.

So, during the entire satellite record of accurate Antarctic sea ice extent measurements, this year’s Antarctic sea ice is higher than 36 of the previous 41 years. It is higher than the 1980-1990 average, 1990-2000 average, higher than the 2000-2010 average, higher than the 2010-2020 average.

Since August 2016-2017, Antarctic sea ice has increased more the ENTIRE area of Greenland! No, NOT “an area comparable to an island the size of Manhattan.” An area the larger than the entire island of Greenland - more than 2 million sq kilometers larger. Go look at a map or globe. You cannot even find the island of Manhattan.
