Henri formed in the mid-Atlantic. After initially following a loopy southward and westward track, Henri is forecast to move northward toward New England.

I survived 16 years worth of FL hurricanes. I prefer them to blizzards though.

Thank you for your latest update on Henri, FRiend!
It is raining and "breezy" here so far. A few strong wind gusts. WTIC radio reporting that Henri is/has shifted a bit to the west. Not good news for us in CT... that should mean a lot more power outages than if the storm kept to the east.

I survived 16 years worth of FL hurricanes. I prefer them to blizzards though. Wow, really? I hate blizzards, too, but at least our electric company scrambles like mad to get our power back during the winter.
Did you evacuate your home for most of those hurricanes? Hubby and I will be moving to coastal South Carolina in a few months (thank God). I need all the hurricane advice I can get, lol.

WTIC radio is reporting that about 3/4 of residents of the town of Canterbury have lost power.

We’re 15 miles north of New Haven. Lots of mature oaks around here. With more wind & water a few might come down. And we’re supposed to get more of both this afternoon.

Saturated ground doesn't require much wind to down trees.
The storm system will slow forward motion soon. Currently moving NNW. Not expected to clear New England until Tuesday.

Here in the CT hills, 30 miles from the coast, it’ll be a rainstorm with blustery winds
I’ll report after midnight

Thanks, NN. Yep, Westerly, RI is right on the CT border.
Still rainy and windy here, but the wind has kicked up a bit since I last posted on FR. We are about 80 miles NW of Westerly, RI.

We are in the CT hills (and deep woods) also. About 60 miles north of Old Saybrook, CT -- Just using one coastal town as an example.
Our main worry is having a lot of these damn tall, heavy trees come down on our property. And hopefully NOT on our house.

Here on the Mass. coast halfway between Boston and Plymouth we have not had much wind or rain from Henri because Henri has moved so far west toward eastern Mass.
I have not seen a gust reach 30 mph and now at 2PM Sunday things are starting to wind down.
Dodged this storm. People on Long Island and the Connecticut coast probably took the brunt of the Tropical storm Henri.-Tom

Oh my…across the inlet border with Pawcatuck, where my uncle used to live on the point. And his friends up the inlet a bit. And my mentor at work lived inland a bit from there.

Thanks for your local report. Eventually, Henri will hang a right toward the coast. Maybe tonight or tomorrow.
