Team Biden Blaming Donald Trump for Taliban Takeover of Afghanistan
breitbart ^ | 13 Aug 2021 | CHARLIE SPIERING

President Joe Biden’s team has increasingly grown defensive following the swift Taliban seizure of key Afghan cities after he withdrew American troops.

West Wing officials voiced their frustrations with former President Donald Trump in conversations with Axios reporter Jonathan Swan.

The officials complained that Trump only left them with 3,000 troops in Afghanistan, forcing them to withdraw because there was no way to keep the peace with such a small force, according to the report.

There was an early peace in Afghanistan, team Biden argued, only because Trump agreed to leave on May 1.

That was an argument that White House press secretary Jen Psaki used in July, noting Biden believed the Taliban “would have been shooting at U.S. troops again after May 1.”

“The withdrawal deadline negotiated by the previous administration kind of set that timeline,” she said.

Biden first chose to extend the deadline for troop withdrawals to September 11, but in July he moved up the timeline to August 31.

Biden also insisted in July that the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan was “not inevitable” in an exchange with reporters.

When asked why he was confident, Biden signaled optimism regarding the strength of the Afghanistan army.

“The Afghan troops have 300,000 — as well-equipped as any army in the world — and an air force against something like 75,000 Taliban,” he said. “It is not inevitable.”

Trump himself criticized Biden’s handling of the withdrawal in Afghanistan in a statement on Thursday.

“I personally had discussions with top Taliban leaders whereby they understood what they are doing now would not have been acceptable,” he said, noting that if he was still president, he would have focused on a “conditions-based” withdrawal.”

Biden is Carter 2.0

Apples to oranges. At least Carter was legitimately elected.

Jotatoe Bai Din is a stolen election catastrophe of apocalyptic proportion. There's literally no historical figure I can think of to compare him to.

Only not smart. Cater was a policy disaster for the country, but at least Carter had the smarts to work on nuclear propulsion system designs for the Navy.

What would Trump do in this situation today?

He would shakes his head and say something like “Sleepy Joe has done terrible job. Very unfortunate and entirely avoidable.”

We survived 8 years of Obama and Clinton, we can survive a little over 3 more of Biden. Look on the bright side, Biden will give us the house and senate, before being voted out in 3 years. Then we will get to select several more supremes.

Ya could have deployed more if you thought that was inadequate. And Trump didn't pull them, YOU DID, announcing the date no less. Duh!

There is a two part series on Youtube called The Great Game which is a documentary about historical invasions/occupations of Afghanistan by the British, Russians and now America.

The Russian commander of the Soviet occupation was interviewed and asked the question, “If you could pass a message to the British and American troops there today what would you say?”

His reply was, “take the quickest route home”.

Bullshit. I was in Afghanistan contracted to support the counterintelligence and human intelligence section of the 82nd Airborne during Barkey’s admin.

There was no strategy to win. Everyone knew it because the Taliban in Pakistan could not be engaged and the GCC monies could not be cut off.

The only time we were on the path to winning in Afghanistan was when LtCol Asad Khan was taking 1st Bn, 6th Marines with the 22nd MEU and wrecking the Taliban with little Rules of Engagement. Then he was fired for being too aggressive, and in came the politically correct, State Department faggots that lost the war in Iraq.

How’s that political correct war working for you now, Pentagon? Bunch of worthless POS.

Whatever the problem, (1) It’s Trump’s fault (except for a few that are Israel’s fault). (2) The solution is to let more refugees and immigrants into the US.

Yea, it’s clear Trump had a plan and he knew how to pull out without leaving a mess. He would have done it, nothing would have happened and EVERYONE would have pretended like it was easy and anyone could have done it but they were more forward thinking and that’s why they didn’t. Just like the mid east deals that Trump pulled off and everyone proclaimed these were inevitable and easy. It’s sickening really. Trump was an amazing President who go absolutely no credit from the fake news media.

“..because they knew we were leaving...”

Yes, but they also knew it was ending under Trump’s terms. They had negotiated an agreement, and they knew that if they crossed Trump, one or more of the leaders would be killed. That deal also provided for a shared government which Biden, in effect, scrapped. I am convinced that if Trump was still running the show this Taliban blitzkrieg would not be happening. Trump had already established a track record.

Agreed. Certainly no one in modern history can compare to this clown.
However, he does have a slight resemblance to Haman in the Biblical book of Esther...the story starts about Chapter 3 or so.
Perhaps his end will be similar as well?

I'm not a fan of Bob Dylan, but at the first Live Aid he basically said "can we take some of this money and give it to the farmers to grow food?"

Same deal here. We are spending trillions on pork-laden infrastructure etc. Ya think, maybe, Jill Biden could have redeployed, oh I dunno...a few more million if she wanted a bigger troop presence?

I mean, she IS running the Executive Branch.
