Census data fallout: How New York Dems could create 'bloodbath' for GOP

The new census data documenting sizable growth in New York City and its surrounding communities in comparison to Upstate New York means "it will be even easier than we thought for Democrats to eliminate a Republican district upstate," Wasserman said.

Downstate, Wasserman says the new maps could "easily" be redrawn to turn GOP Rep. Nicole Malliotakis’s Staten Island/Brooklyn district and Republican Rep. Lee Zeldin’s Long Island district into blue strongholds.

Reed, the retiring GOP congressman, said he expects Democrats in Albany to use all their political levers to redraw districts in their favor in an effort to preserve Democrats’ majority in the House. He called out Democrats for "hypocrisy" for railing against political gerrymandering elsewhere, while fully embracing gerrymandering when they are in power.

Reed thinks the most likely scenario would be New York GOP representation in Congress going down from eight seats to four seats after the 2022 maps are drawn.

It all balances out. There are 271,339 democrats in Utah that zero representation, unless you count Mittens.

New York isn’t hurting enough. With that or the typical New York voter isn’t as intelligent as a worm, who knows to turn away from pain.

New York has one party rule. Everything that happens must be approved by the party. There must be complete obedience to the party, and there can be no criticism of the party without retribution.

Andrew Cuomo would never have resigned if it hadn't been determined that he was of no further use to the party.

Look what the Pennsylvania corrupt state court did.

They ordered the legislature to rewrite the congressional districts to favor democrats. Then when the legislature produced yet another map, the court still refused it and submitted their own map that took away 5 Republican districts.

The court did this even though the constitution gives the legislature the authority to create congressional districts.

When the PA legislature appealed to the USA Supreme Court, the Supreme’s (led by John Roberts) refused to hear the case.

/triple spit.

New York State, as a whole, lost population. Productive people left for greener (and less taxed) pastures. Who came in? People looking to access the lucrative welfare. Third World refugees. Illegal immigrants. Yeah. The future is so bright, I gotta wear shades...

Have a friend living in New York (Upstate) that leaves for their home and their first fall season in the Texas Panhandle on Sunday. They purchased a small cottage along Lake Ontario and will stay in that two months a year during the summer and when they come to NY to visit. Look forward to seeing them on their trip out West.

They are sad about leaving, but their two daughters live out West and they have a son living in Toronto. They said it’s just too expensive for them as retirees to live in New York vs. Texas.
