Sen. Rand Paul revealed Wednesday in a disclosure that was more than a year overdue that his wife in February 2020 bought up to $15,000 worth of shares in Gilead, a biotech company that brought to market the first drug designed to treat COVID-19.
Paul’s mandatory filing with the Senate shows that his wife purchased between $1,000 and $15,000 worth of Gilead stock on Feb. 26, 2020.
Gilead’s antiviral drug remdesivir became the first COVID-19 specific treatment to win an emergency use authorization from the Food and Drug Administration less that three months after the purchase in May 2020.

Nope, he just needs to disclose it, it is the law.
What a sap. Pelosi and her husband probably bought ten times as much. Ditto Feinstein. And Burr.
Me, too. I rebalanced my portfolio and bought Pfizer before the pandemic. We were looking at the numbers last night and it’s turned out quite well along with my Apple purchase. Too bad we didn’t buy Zoom.
How?
The issue isn’t the purchase, it’s the requirement to disclose as a Congressman (and spouse). They can buy anything and everything they want (w/o insider info) they just need to abide by the disclosure rules. Which btw, normal people are not subject to. It’s appropriate rule for Congress as most are corrupt so disclosure sheds some light on this. They are also inherently privy to “insider” information which the SEC precludes anyone from trading on.
Rand Paul’s wife is not a public official.
That reminds me when is there going to be a thorough investigation and prosecution of Hunter Biden for the massive crimes he’s committed?

I’m not a Paul fan, but this doesn’t raise flags in my world.
Indeed many people did the same NY Post confused.
She is not lost money if she sold at that price.
So did I so what
Great, let’s do an in depth investigation. Let’s call for all our House and Senate members to disclose all purchased stocks within the past 2 years! This should be fun to watch!
Oh how I wish I had as well. Smart buy Mrs Paul!
No, it doesn’t look good.
At all.
Oh Noes!!!!!!
Depends on ones perspective. From my view point it was an excellent opportunity taken.
And really Old FReeper, who gives a poop on what the presstitutes think?
Have a good day.
Yes, this was in February 2020. It wasn’t a surprise.
How about those four Congresspeople who, just after receiving a top-secret briefing a week before Covid was talked about in public, or announced, sold their share holdings and purchased stock in companies like 3M and any other company that produced items related to Covid care?
Heard about this a while back and don’t remember their names.
Please. 15K is chump change. I am no where near rich but I also bought that much.
