Firstly, I sympathize with your cause (humblegunner). I get your point.
But,
1) This is breaking news and I saw it as a 10 second sound bite on Fox News.
2) There are very few (news-links) to use, since basically all the news organizations in the USA are liberal propagandists. I did find a link for this, but it was Atlantic Magazine and I did not want to provide that link.
3) I have been a member of Freerepublic.com for at least 22 years. I just have a recent membership date because of a misunderstanding a couple of years ago.
4) I am not ranting about some personal grievance or asking how to log in. lol
5) My sister never kissed a moose.
So in this case, I should be given a pass on the vanity issue.

I think the GOAT thing was thrust upon her by the media.
She is having trouble with focus. That is an essential commodity when one is performing physical feats in split seconds that are impossible for virtually all the rest of humanity. We should get that.
When this is all done, there will be a social justice motive behind this.
Honestly, I think it comes from growing up, too. You feel invincible when you’re a kid doing these things, but after a few injuries and some more maturity, doubt creeps in when you’re throwing your body through space in dangerous ways. She talked about the difference being 24 is to being 19, how you understand more that you can get seriously injured.
I learned how to do mindfulness a few years ago. It doesn’t take of time. Meditate 15-20 per day. There is a lot more you can do but two sessions a day is what most people do, I think.
Honestly, learning how to practice mindfulness helped me tremendously. It helped me get through a very difficult time in my life. It still helps me every day.
I got interested in it after reading a book titled “Full Catastrophe living,” by Jon Kabitt-Zinn.
I still do it every day. Doing it for even 5 minutes is helpful. My focus has gotten as good as it’s ever been, and my anger has been tempered...somewhat.
As long as she drops out of the individual events, I’ll give her a pass. The team has alternates who would love to taker her spot. Female brains do not work anything like male brains when it comes to emotional issues. She has brought glory to herself and the USA for many years.
It’s like the NE Patriots, Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. They can all suck for the next 10 years because of their glorious past 20 years. They get a pass.
Allegedly she was involved with BLM and supporting Colin, and getting entangled in such webs of hate can be exhausting and damage the concentration needed for sports.
She didn’t quit on herself alone. She quit her team.
I played high school football with young men that played bleeding, broken, dislocated, and throwing up to help the team. You don’t quit on your team. You don’t quit on your country.
This is the the equivalent of Tom Brady quitting at halftime of the 2017 Superbowl because they were down 24-3.
But true GOATS like Brady thrive when the pressure is greatest. His efforts in the last 5 minutes of that game was the epitome of GOAT performance.
