I got very weak and had to rest in bed for part of a day after my second shot of Moderna.
If I was a waiter, I would have had to miss a day of work.
At the $15/hour minimum wage in Metro NYC, this would mean about $120 in lost income.
People without sick pay benefits might not get vaccinated without about $120 in financial compensation. It might be paid $20 for the first shot and $100 more for the final shot.
I believe I read that Walmart pays $75 to each of its workers vaccinated.
