I suppose it’s possible that if I typed into a search engine, “people who have sex with ants” I might get a million replies. (I decided not to try.) However, I did type in “companies leaving South Africa.” Here are the results. (I’d say when banks are pulling out wholesale, it means they have given up on a country and that’s bad. Very bad.)
I spent 3 weeks in SA back in 2019. Lot of impressions...if the greed/corruption weren’t there and you had capable leadership, the country offers a ton of possibilities. I talked to several folks, and they all went back to corruption of the 1970s/1980s, and it just transferred over to the ‘new’ regime.
As for companies...most are probably in a quiet-shutdown phase (if what the news folks are saying is true). The mineral folks in the NE might still be working.
The chief problem...lot of freight trucks burnt/destroyed, and if you attempted to bring produce or products from the producers...it’d just be intercepted. Add to it...the ANC business split down the middle (fractured)...with various groups supporting Zuma (the arrested ex-president).
If the active-army and the reserves break off into political groups (some supporting Zuma’s faction), then the whole mess will evolve into a civil conflict, and a massive exodus of people attempting to get into Namibia, Botswana, or Zimbabwe. None of the three could handle that type of situation.
Finally, you come to Ramaphosia (current President and figure head of ANC). You just don’t get any positive feelings over leadership skills...he’s just a ANC talking-head. I would suggest that if this isn’t calmed down by the end of the month....maybe the chief of the military (Rudzani Maphwanya) might end up as some figurehead outside of the ANC chaos, and resetting the whole political spectrum.

There were more stories than just the banks, which was why I gave you the whole search. I’ve only talked to a handful of Afrikaners over the years and the subject was always how bad things were and how bad they were likely to get.
