RON JOHNSON: Climate change is 'bullsh--'
The Hill ^ | 07/07/21 09:04 AM EDT | BY DOMINICK MASTRANGELO

Posted on 07/07/2021 6:21:41 AM PDT by RandFan

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) downplayed the dangers of climate change at a Republican luncheon earlier this summer, according to a new report.

"I don't know about you guys, but I think climate change is — as Lord Monckton said — bullsh*t," Johnson said according to CNN's KFILE, reporting the Republican did not utter the expletive but mouthed it instead.

"By the way, it is," Johnson then added, according to a report.

Lord Christopher Monckton is a British conservative climate change denier and political pundit.

"What are we doing here? Well, we're killing ourselves," Johnson said at the event in early June, adding, "it's a self-inflicted wound."

The Republican separately blamed mainstream media outlets and Democrats for using the coronavirus pandemic and climate change as a means of creating a "state of fear" and "control."

"It was all about creating the state of fear as they tried to do with global warming. Oh, I'm sorry. It's climate change now. Yeah. Whatever works," Johnson said. "Whatever works that they can, you can set up a state of fear so they can step in and alleviate their fear."

The consensus among scientists is that global temperatures are rising because of activity by humans. Climate change increasingly has been seen in connection to violent tropical storms, as well as the recent heat wave in the Pacific Northwest.

Progressive Democrats in Congress have been pushing for more funding to fight global warming as part of the ongoing debate about infrastructure spending, a measure Republicans in both chambers have voiced opposition to.

At the same time, a new group was recently formed by some House Republicans to educate members about climate change.

KFILE noted that Johnson, who has not announced if he will seek re-election to his seat representing Wisconsin in the Upper Chamber, has repeatedly downplayed the threat climate change poses to humans and the planet.

"Mankind has actually flourished in warmer temperatures," Johnson said in 2016. "I just think the question always is what is the cost versus the benefit of anything we do to try and clean up our environment."

Over the last several months, Johnson also has questioned public health measures relating to the coronavirus pandemic, downplayed the threat posed to lawmakers during the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol and backed former President Trump's unsubstantiated claims of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election.

In a recent editorial, the largest newspaper in Johnson's home state called him "the most irresponsible representative of Wisconsin citizens since the infamous Sen. Joseph R. McCarthy in the 1950s."

"As a Tea Party Republican and climate change denier in 2010, he attracted support from the fossil fuel industry. Later, by minimizing the pandemic and touting questionable treatments for COVID, he vouched for a former president’s lies and boosted his own credibility with the Trump base in his home state," The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel wrote. "Johnson continues to put his own interests ahead of yours. He continues to put himself first and democracy second."

Johnson's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Hill, but the Republican told KFILE: "My statements are consistent. I am not a climate change denier, but I also am not a climate change alarmist. Climate is not static. It has always changed and always will change."

I’ve been seeing a lot of the new label lately: ‘Climate Disruption.’

Don’t apologize. In fact he should double-down and shout it from the rooftops.

Climate change was bull $hit eleven years ago. It was bull $hit eleven years before that. It was bull $hit eleven years before that. We should be dead three times over by now. Bull $hit.

I only wish there was climate change on such an aggressive scale. Warm the winter. Bring down heating costs. Eliminate snow and ice to make it easy to safely walk. Give us an extra growing season. Bring down food prices.

Have you ever noticed that when they report on some heat wave or storm, they always say things like “the hottest year since 1986” or “the strongest storm since 2002” as “proof” that this is climate change causing this?

When they do that, they’re being so deceptive, because anyone with a brain says “but, doesn’t that mean it was hotter in 1986?” or “But doesn’t that mean that the storm in 2002 was stronger than this one?”

In other words, their “proof” of things getting worse due to climate change is actually a self-contained disproof.

The SUN controls much of the climate....

All the money spent on other things is a joke.

When you have fields full of windmills & NO FOOD maybe you all will wake up.

mainstream media outlets and Democrats for using the coronavirus pandemic and climate change as a means of creating a "state of fear" and "control."

Bleeding heart do-gooders + excessive irrational empathy and compassion + power lust + a convenient “crisis” + duty to obey & duty to sacrifice = more force + more statism & bigger government + increased parasitism & dependency + more and bigger problems down the road

Cato the Censor was famous in ancient Rome for ending every speech — on any topic — with the statement “Carthago est delenda” (”Carthage must be destroyed”). He wanted to constantly remind people that, whatever else was going on, Rome had an enemy that needed to be dealt with.

I’d like to see Republicans routinely talk about how government is trying to keep us in a constant state of fear as an implement of control. It should be brought up relentless. Racism. COVID. Gun Control. Jan 6. Election Reform. Anything and everything is designed now to keep us in a state of fear.

We have become a fearful people. We cower before our masters and nothing will get better until we stop.

Of course it's BS. But our Marxist teachers have convinced half their students that it's real and they need to worship at the alter of Leftism to protect the environment or they're doomed.

It’s basically a cult. Children, and those stuck in an arrested adolescence are easily led.

It’s in all the Marxist publications. It’s not like they don’t telegraph their means and motives every d@mn day.

Removing G-d from The Public Square (to include schools) is working well for them. *SPIT*
