Eric Adams won the Democratic nomination in the race to replace Mayor Bill de Blasio — squeaking out a narrow victory in the ranked choice primary, according to a preliminary count of the final vote tally Tuesday.
Adams emerged narrowly ahead of Kathryn Garcia, 50.5 percent to 49.5 percent, according to unofficial figures posted on the BOE’s website.
Adams declared the primary race over in an evening statement.

Curtis Sliwa is an interesting radio host, but there is a large contingent of his personality is wackadoo, and he has some elements of his past that are not conducive. He's anti-crime, but I'm not sure he would even qualify as a conservative on most fronts. But given what I know about him, I'm not sure he could get elected anywhere.
Let me guess: commie edges out commie?
Sliwa switched from Reform Party to Republican in 2020.
They pretty much had to give it to him to squelch all that inconvenient “obvious election cheating” talk.
Anything to stop an audit.
“If we make you the winner, will you stop the audit?”
I wonder what kind of backroom deals the Adams team had to make with the NYC Rat Machine to get him over the finish line first. Despite his law enforcement background I doubt he’ll be any different than any other Rat politician in that city!
I don’t think Adams is a commie. He may have been farthest to the right of all the Democrats.
All these elections are rigged.
RE: THE TITLE OF THE THREAD “Most Likely Next NYC Mayor”
So, the Republican Candidate, Curtis Sliwa and the New York Republicans should just throw in the towel now, right?
No, but why didn’t they find a viable candidate?
Which isn't saying much in New York.
America has made the world a better place with innovation but America has no idea how to have a election system that is sound and logical. America also has an incredibly idiotic voting public.
Too bad, was rooting for the Rat establishment to steal it from the at-risk minority candidate. Guess the Rat establishment can now make Adams their puppet as NYC slides into oblivion.

Who do you have in mind in a city where Democrat registration outnumbers Republicans 4 to 1?

That's what we said when Giuliani ran against (light-skinned black) David Dinkins, who was Bronx Borough President. The first time, the Democratic machine stole a victory. The second time, Dinkins had run NYC so far into the ground in street crime, general filth, businesses leaving in droves, and financial mismanagement and graft, that Giuliani managed to beat the steal and win two terms. He transformed New York City with common sense and Trump-like toughness--in quality of life, business investment, crime stats, and people rushing to move back to a great city. It was probably the best performance by a mayor, based on competence and results, in a century.
But yes, a lot depends on luck.
They condone a pedestrian suddenly being pounced upon, or slashed with a knife, or raped or shot. Lots and lots of those stories although not all reported as breaking news.
They shrug and go along with hundreds of car breakins. And carjackings even with a baby in a car seat.
They step over the broken glass of blocks of high cost merchandise retail stores looted and vandalized.
They allow Cuomo and DeBlasio to be re-elected (Mario glides in on NYC vote margins) despite anti-white bias and pro BLM stances plus deadly Covid policies about old people's places.
All in all, New Yorkers, you are an evil group that hurts all of us in America.
