What they go out of their way to avoid is that this all started with the summer of love and BLM last summer. Indianapolis is a "blue" city run by an entrenched Democratic city council and mayor that do NOTHING and, like other blue cities, are cutting back on police and not punishing crime and the city is collapsing because of it.

They’re liberals. They are incapable of admitting that their support of these policies is what caused all of this. For them, it’s supposed to be nothing but a liberal love fest of lollipops, rainbows and unicorns.

Are there any Conservative, Patriotic American-run major cities in this country anymore? Personally, I can’t think of a single one. The people who live in our major cities have gotten EXACTLY what they have voted for. Before they whine they need to look in the mirror to see the root cause problem.

What was he thinking? He should be moving out of town or state.

And Marion County people are flocking out of the city. Many are going north to Hamilton County. We sold my dad’s property last year and it lasted 6 days on the market.

I live in southern Indiana and refuse to go to Indianapolis because of the crime. And I will say it, it is because of blacks committing the crimes.

I guess last summer really made a huge change since my only visit to Indy in 2015 for a conference at the Convention Center. My wife and I stayed at the Westin (then a Marriott) across from the Convention Center and walked around nearby to visit the Weber Grill restaurant, Circle Centre Mall, and other locations. We also did a Segway tour from White River State Park through the Central Canal area. Never saw anything like what other FReepers are posting in this thread. Really sad...

It is my city destroyed by the riots and liberal politics. I have only been to the city a few times since the riots. Once to visit an optician and a couple of times to visit a favorite jeweler. The jewelry store was wiped out of merchandise during the two nights of riots in May 2020. The main downtown CVS was burned out and is closed. The yearly convention we visited, PRI, was cancelled due to Covid. The city has nothing for families to go there for other than to eat or drink. The Circle Center Mall is closed. There are no shops around the Circle or along Washington Street. Parking meters have no free after hour times anymore and the meters are difficult to use. We have no reason to visit Indianapolis downtown anymore. We figure the new inhabitants of the many apartment complexes being built will fill the restaurants and bars. The last time we went to Bankers Life Fieldhouse, the Pacers home, we had to walk around bedded down homeless on the street to get to our parking lot. That's all.
