Been reading Shelby Foote’s 3 volume set on the Civil War. I was hoping it would give some insight into the build up to the war since it feels like to me, we’re close to a similar situation in Amerika.
What I have found interesting in the book that really hurt the South was the lack of manufacturing. What existed in the South was very rudimentary as well.
I can’t help but feel we’re cutting our own throat with the amount of manufacturing overseas, particularly in China.
The Chine are building and shipping windmill blades across the ocean cheaper than what can be made here? That’s insane.
