Beginning in the fall, the Austin Independent School District will be significantly scaling back the way it disciplines children who act up.
The goal is to reduce racial disparities, which show Black and brown students are being disproportionately punished compared to their white classmates.
According to data compiled by the district, Black children at AISD were nearly five times more likely than their white peers to receive disciplinary action, include suspensions, being placed at a disciplinary campus or being expelled.

Every time a bipocpipo misbehaves, whip all of the whippin’ boy wypipo.
It’s only equitable.
This is going on nationwide.
to diminish disparities, whites are punished for even small infractions and blacks are only punished for large infractions.
Get your child out no matter what color! this is poisonous to all.
The next generation of entitled thugs in the making
Don’t count on there being white neighborhoods. It won’t be long before AISD decides to do what Dallas, TX ISD did back in the 70s. DISD decided to bus black students to white neighborhood schools and white students to black neighborhood schools. I was lucky (lucky?) and got to stay the first year of this oh so brilliant plan at my neighborhood school. However, I wouldn’t have been able to return to my 4 houses down the street high school until my Senior year.
Won’t go into all I experienced that year but lets just say my family was part of the white flight before the next school year started.
My old middle class predominantly white neighborhood and school in now solidly black. No surprise there. Found our old house on Zillow and it had been remodeled in a, well, uh, funked out style.
I doubt there’ll be busing this time. Liberals are hypocrites.
There is discipline, and then there is committing crimes. I believe you have to report when a crime is committed. The inmates are now running the insane asylum. Now they will be able to commit crime along with there other privileges.
Yes, and wasn’t it in Parkland, FL, that some kid named Cruz was able to buy a rifle and shoot up his school? Same sort of program running there, wasn’t it?
Or close enough to never mind.
