Apparently it is okay for Mexico to stage a revolution but not Texas?

When those who claim to be sovereign over an area are unable or unwilling to defend their claim, they deserve to lose the area to those who can. This has been the way of things since the dawn of time. So in the ridiculous hypothetical, if the US lacked the sauce to expel the usurpers, the Canadians would and should have it. If Santa Ana had defeated the American invaders, Mexico would have deserved to retain the area. Might makes right seems nasty, but it how reality works absent external force.

We know the story. The territorial Mexicans wanted independence and got it. Oh well.

I quit subscribing to Time ragazine back in the 1980’s; it was going far leftwing back then.

It wasn’t just Texas, large parts of Mexico were revolting against Santa Ana as well.

Santa Ana was your typical idiot megalomaniac who pretty much destroyed Mexico, first by abolishing the Mexican Constitution which ignited the revolt that resulted in him losing Texas. Then he started a war with the United States which cost him New Mexico, Arizona, and California.

He thought of himself as “the Napolean of the west”, but his competence was more like “the mall cop of Mexico.”

His heavy-handed execution of POWs alienated his generals, and all Sam Houston had to do was wait for one of Santa Ana’s typical bonehead mistakes.

Come to think of it, it is hardly surprising Time is on the side of Santa Ana, idiots, incompetents, and liars have to stick together.

Great-great grandpa was one of the scouts who captured Santa Anna.

Of course, we have to change history for Pee Bush and his illegals.

Also worth noting that the Tejanos (previous Mexican citizens of Texas) were revolting right alongside the Texians (US Immigrants).

Santa Anna was amazingly resilient in Mexican politics. No matter how he screws up, how many times he undermines a Mexican government he’s soon back in the game of Mexican politics giving it one more try ! Other then Texas his biggest contribtion to American life is chewing gum - Chiclets !

The changing of the history of the Alamo has already happened on the History Channel, AHC Channel and other like socilist butthole stations with stories of how David Crockett was executed as a prisoner after the battle instead of while fighting along with.other little inaccuracies of what happened at the Alamo. It seems that this little Yahoo bitch is extending the history assassination.

Utter BS!

Tell the Freaks at Time, that we own more guns than any other state.

They can (try to) come and take em, if they are stupid enough to try.

And some of us still have ammo.

Please keep the “F” word off of FR... I, as a fellow Texan, agree with the writers sentiments, but do not appreciate his language use...

In her defense, her exact words were “the first time I’m REALLY proud to be an American”.

The “really” is very important.
