Kemp booed and Raffensperger censured at Georgia GOP convention

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp was booed and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger was censured at the Georgia GOP convention Saturday, demonstrating former President Donald Trump's hold over members of the Georgia Republican Party.

The reaction from members of the Georgia GOP comes months after both Kemp and Raffensperger refused to help the former President overturn the election results after his loss to President Joe Biden. Trump has endorsed one of Raffensperger's primary opponents, GOP Rep. Jody Hice, who has embraced the ex-President's falsehoods about the election.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Kemp was greeted with boos so loud as he spoke at the convention that it was difficult to hear his speech from the press area for about 30 seconds. And while Kemp dodged any formal vote of disapproval, Raffensperger was officially censured Saturday due to "dereliction of his constitutional duty," according to the newspaper.

A copy of the resolution obtained by the newspaper calls on Kemp and all elected officials to "repair the damage that has been done and commit themselves to securing Georgia's elections."

The animosity toward Kemp and Raffensperger from Georgia Republicans on Saturday mirrors the hostility faced by other GOP leaders who have spoken out against the former President.

Normally the Democrat media would be happy about Republican disunity.

But they find this worrisome. Because they know that they have failed. Republicans are openly (and quite loudly) rejecting the types of candidates that Democrats like, that is, easy losers or rollable winners.

The people are done being fooled by smooth-talking politicians who when push comes to shove, cave to Democrat and media (but I repeat myself) pressures.

Didn't need to read past that - then saw the source.

They should have had the decency to not show up. Makes one wonder what’s going on in the party.

Bush League Republicans are fighting to maintain control of the party to keep us voting for Assistant Democrats, that’s what’s going on.

They’re either too stupid to know better - or know the Democrats are funding them and have their backs. More likely the latter.

If Trump actually had a hold, a presence, he would have won Georgia and two Senate seats.

Both actions are after the fact and meaningless. The booing and censoring accomplish absolutely nothing.

Drawing progressive blood in a real fight is meaningful. Sour grapes are not

The DNC Media is lasting out against the takedown of their RINO co-conspirators.

Their bitterness stems from any effort at election transparency where review would reveal the coordinated election theft.

Everything is couched around this fear.

Yet in 2000, they supported reexamining the Florida election results for months as they evaluated all the votes in seven different ways!

In all seven, Gore lost in varied amounts by about 1,000 votes.

Bit now it’s the Apocalypse if taxpayers audit their own election.

Well it is, for them and they know it.

If you subtract the systemic mail-in cheating by Democrats, he did win

that’s why Democrats and their Media pals are in such a panic over electoral audits

A little resistance is boiling up in the ranks. This does not bode well for further incursions by George Soros, whom I believe got to both Governor Kemp and Secretary of State Raffensperger, and has compromised them..

These two are no longer considered politically reliable by either side.

Kemp’s behavior seemed really weird, especially since they tried to steal an election from him. I think they let him know that bad things could happen to his family.

. . .demonstrating former President Donald Trump's hold over members of the Georgia Republican Party.

Or, more correctly, demonstrating the GOPe and Chamber of Commie's wing LACK of hold.

Spoken like a true “get along to go along” GOPe.

Ratburger gave the keys to Abrams for this mail in ballot crap. Obviously you don’t believe that there was any corruption.

Sour grapes? Where was the tarring and feathering?

LOL, what color is the sky in your world? You speak as if the election results in GA are legitimate, that nothing untoward happened on election night.

Never mind, you never Trump people are all the same.

“I think they let him know that bad things could happen to his family.”

My belief is if this did happen the best it could be handled is to immediately go public with it as well as notify the authorities of course.

Raffensperger turned his office over to his deputy honeypot. She was really running the show.
