But the emergency use of the unapproved vaccines could only be permitted IF there were no alternative treatment for the virus.

Follow the money.

Chloroquine is a potent inhibitor of SARS coronavirus infection and spread

Background Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) is caused by a newly discovered coronavirus (SARS-CoV). No effective prophylactic or post-exposure therapy is currently available. Results We report, however, that chloroquine has strong antiviral effects on SARS-CoV infection of primate cells. These inhibitory effects are observed when the cells are treated with the drug either before or after exposure to the virus, suggesting both prophylactic and therapeutic advantage. In addition to the well-known functions of chloroquine such as elevations of endosomal pH, the drug appears to interfere with terminal glycosylation of the cellular receptor, angiotensin-converting enzyme 2. This may negatively influence the virus-receptor...

Surely that was by accident.

When they FOIA’d the emails, surely they were looking for evidence that Trump was meddling with the NIH. They did try to spin this as “Dr. Fauci was such a hardworking guy, really gave his all...”

And the media are doing their level best to bury this. There wasn’t a single question at yesterday’s WH press conference about this.

Not. One. Single. Question.

Well, duh ... You can’t have a world wide plandemic if there are cheap, safe and widely available treatments getting in the way, right? Hello??!??

How great thou art, oh Fauci bobble head, you sexy cover boy, you.

Tell you what, “doc”. Maybe you oughtta make peace with God now while you still can, you know what I mean? No, really.

When you are doing 10-15 press interviews every day, and writing a book, long emails are just not important. I remember when he said he was so busy he didn’t have time to get in his lab. He did have time to attend a baseball game, and pose by the pool for a fashion magazine. The hard life of a dedicated public servant.

Hydroxychloroquine, a less toxic derivative of chloroquine, is effective in inhibiting SARS-CoV-2 infection in vitro

The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome cor- onavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2/2019-nCoV) poses a serious threat to global public health and local economies. As of March 3, 2020, over 80,000 cases have been confirmed in China, including 2946 deaths as well as over 10,566 confirmed cases in 72 other countries. Such huge num- bers of infected and dead people call for an urgent demand of effective, available, and affordable drugs to control and diminish the epidemic. We have recently reported that two drugs, remdesivir (GS-5734) and chloroquine (CQ) phosphate, efficiently inhibited SARS-CoV-2 infection in vitro...

'Malaria Drug Is Effective Against SARS'

'Malaria drug is effective against SARS'

September 03 2004 at 06:27PM

Brussels - The anti-malaria drug chloroquine could be used to treat Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, which killed hundreds of people last year, virologists at the Belgian Catholic University of Leuven (KUL) said on Friday.

A research team led by Professor Marc Van Ranst of KUL's Rega Institute for Medical Research found that chloroquine "is active against the SARS coronavirus in laboratory experiments".

"Chloroquine could be of great importance as preventive medication for people living in or travelling to SARS-affected areas, and as an antiviral treatment for SARS patients," the research team said in a statement.

Pence must have known that Fauci was using all of these bizarre strategies basically to get at Trump and delegitimize anything he said, but he quietly went along with it.

Pence was a disaster. I knew he was going to be a problem during the 2016 VP debate, when he promoted a Hillary foreign policy instead of the Trump foreign policy. Someone suggested that he is closeted, also.

The narrative was impressive. The media were instantly on the same page: if Trump suggested it, they were against it, and it didn’t matter how many people suffered needles early deaths, if it could help them get rid of Trump.

The fish tank cleaner story started the ball rolling, and it didn’t matter that it didn’t make any sense; to this day, I’ll encounter brain-dead people who still scoff at the drug because of that story.

It was a little harder to understand how RECOVERY managed to bungle the research, by giving a suspected anti-viral to late-stage patients who had no viral replication, and using known-toxic doses.

It’s not hyperbole to point out that the result was nothing less than mass murder, at levels that compare to the Soviet and Nazi eras.

And they are going to get away with it, scott free.

The stupid in this particular piece of misinformation is so overwhelmingly powerful that it boggles the mind.

The NIH maintains the NLM (national library of medicine.) Asserting that this article is Fauci’s publication is as silly as saying the local public library down the street wrote Hamlet, Treasure Island, and The Art of the Deal because they have these three books on their shelves.

Fauci actually did coauthor some papers back around 2005 where HCQ was mentioned, but these papers only referred to its anti-malarial properties; there was absolutely no mention in these papers of HCQ in the context of treating SARS-CoV-1.

FRAUDci is NIH.

🙄

Why defend him, like this? There are NUMEROUS article, about this paper....stating the exact same thing.

Thanks for your rude reply, though.

Not.

I am not defending Fauci. I just have this apparently antiquated notion that truth matters which I haven’t quite been able to get over.

>There are NUMEROUS article, about this paper....stating the exact same thing.

Yeah, well that’s not surprising given that very few seem willing to spend even the slightest effort to look into anything.

The Virology Journal which published the article question is a part of Springer Nature which is a part of BioMed Central. This is a private publisher located in the UK and has nothing to do with the NIH.

Sounds like someone got to your Cheerios, this morning.

NIH posted this Virology Journal paper, in 2005.

Again....the buck stops with FRAUDci, who is/was over NIH.

Enjoy the rest of your day, Qilin.

Dr Gold (Frontline Doctor) said IIRC that doctors like her prescribed HCQ for themselves and their families based on...

If an ER physician suspected that a commonly prescribed drug with a fantastic safety record might be useful in stopping C-19, WHY did Fraud Fauci work so hard to block it?

Obvious answers include:

1. You can't make BIG PHARMA $BILLIONS if there is an existing drug which can treat C-19

2. Unless lots of people die and the public is scared into submission, there would be no vote by mail and Trump would be re-elected.

Fraud Fauci is a radical leftist DimWIT.

Here is a paper coauthored by Fauci and published in 2005 in which both SARS and chloroquine are mentioned. Note that chloroquine is only mentioned in the context of malaria; there no mention of chloroquine being a possible treatment for SARS-CoV-1 (then known just as SARS-CoV.)
