Chloroquine is a potent inhibitor of SARS coronavirus infection and spread
Virology Journal ^ | August 22, 2005 | martin j vincent

Posted on 07/28/2020 7:10:39 AM PDT by ConservativeDude

chloroquine has strong antiviral effects on SARS-CoV infection of primate cells. These inhibitory effects are observed when the cells are treated with the drug either before or after exposure to the virus, suggesting both prophylactic and therapeutic advantage.....

Next question: is it available for a treatment for COVID-19 (WuFlu)?

this is too dangerous a material, enters cells too quickly.

use quinine OR hydroxychloroquine, instead.

as you know, dr. faluci has said that it doesn’t work and is dangerous, and the media has gone along, killing the vulnerable and terrifying the not vulnerable.

note: this drug is not just SAFE, it is actually good for you (improves lipid profile).

The data is OVERWHELMING that this drug is SAFE. No heart issues, no nothing.

yes, quite right.

i was only posting an old related scientific journal article.

the science is out there.

covid 19 is not new

this universe of treatments is not new

Mostly no. It’s so demonized by the left that most physicians and pharmacists are scared to dispense it.

From Dr. Fauci’s organization from 2005.
This corona virus is officially called
COVID SARS-2.

They gave up on Cloroquine because it had too many side effects. Hydroxycloroquine has very few side effects and it works.

And about the same time in "Emerging Infectious Diseases," February 2004, "Interferon-β 1a and SARS Coronavirus Replication"
A global outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) caused by a novel coronavirus began in March 2003. The rapid emergence of SARS and the substantial illness and death it caused have made it a critical public health issue. Because no effective treatments are available, an intensive effort is under way to identify and test promising antiviral drugs. Here, we report that recombinant human interferon (IFN)-β 1a potently inhibits SARS coronavirus replication in vitro.
Synairgen just announced the Phase II double-blind placebo-controlled trial of its SNG001 inhaled interferon. It looks very promising.

Funny how results from FIFTEEN years ago are now being dusted off and re-used.

yes, thank you for that clarification. quite right.

the point here is that the science spoke at least approximately to this group of treatment protocols and this group of virus(es)....a LONG time ago.

hydroxycloroquine is a SAFE and BENEFICIAL cure.

old people who were vulnerable should not have been put into confined nursing homes to die.

schools should not have been closed, because children play a positive role in this by weakening the virus

and the rest of us who are not vulnerable should not have had our freedom taken away and being compelled to live in irrational, unscientific fear

Mostly no. It’s so demonized by the left that most physicians and pharmacists are scared to dispense it.

Not scared, but ordered not to by some state pharmacy boards. In New Mexico pharmacies if someone is prescribed HCQ the Dr must provide the full diagnosis with the prescription proving a valid non covid need for the drug. they use the following in their guidelines

"inappropriate prescribing of hydroxychloroquine, chloroquine, and others that are being investigated for potential use in treating and preventing COVID-19".

When the state calls a Dr's action of prescribing a known, efficient treatment as "Inappropriate" then State officials are overriding the physician. That in itself should be chilling.

That’s the scared part. Not scared that patients will die, Doctors and Pharmacists know damn well what HCQ does to people, it’s been out there for 70 years and prescribed to untold millions of people. They know it’s safe. No, they are scared of losing their licenses if they use it.
