Gov. Ron DeSantis: ‘Overwhelming’ Number of People Moving to Florida Registering As Republican
Breitbart ^ | 27 May 2021 | AMY FURR

Posted on 05/27/2021 11:47:12 AM PDT by Hojczyk

Many people moving to Florida are registering as Republicans because lockdowns in blue states caused them to reevaluate being a Democrat, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) said Wednesday.

The lockdowns turned them into Republicans because they say ‘I cannot fathom,’ people say, ‘I was a Democrat because of education, and I’m in California and they’re locking my kids out of school. I come to Florida, they’re in school, people are free, people are happy.’ So I think this whole process has caused some people to reevaluate some of their prior commitments. And if you have a political party that puts the interests of teachers unions over the interests of kids being able to just access an education at all, that tells you all you need to know about the modern Democrat party.

In April, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd warned intending Florida residents not to “vote the stupid way you did up north” while standing beside the governor during a press conference, Breitbart News reported:

“We’re a special place, and there are millions and millions of people who like to come here. And quite frankly, we like to have them here. So we only want to share one thing as you move in hundreds a day: Welcome to Florida. But don’t register to vote and vote the stupid way you did up north, you’ll get what they got,” the sheriff added, prompting applause from the group of law enforcement officers, lawmakers and state officials gathered.

“DeSantis is full of it.

People right here will tell ya everyone moving into their states are leftist escaping CA. So this is impossible.”

Obviously, you have no data to support your post.

I would still regard the intentions of new arrivals in Florida with a little wariness. They may SAY they are tired of Democrat heavy-handedness, but like refugees from the old Soviet bloc, they still yearn for the comforting reliance on socialist policies. Maybe with a new start, they can make it go “correctly” this time.

But then, there is the example of the expatriate Cubans who fled from Castro, and they are more solidly conservative Republican than many native-born “Republicans in name only”, and have achieved a high level of success and advancement.

It all depends on how strong the inoculation was.

Other than Miami Dade area and around big cities like Tallahassee, Jacksonville, and parts of Tampa vast majority of Florida is pretty red.

Here is a map that shows counties by red or blue. West coast and pan handle is much more red.

Are they planning to vote Republican in the general election or simply vote in the primaries and influence who the candidates are?

are there still any nice quiet little towns with country rural areas around them in Florida? if so, what towns are best to start looking at, thanks

Yes... in Marion County... a town called Dunellon..population 2,057. It's a nice little place with antique shops and cafes, with rural areas all around... The region between Dunellon and Ocala is primarily horse country. Land can be had really cheap there.

I doubt that the move itself is going to change many people politically.

But it could change your state. They are parasitic!

‘’Right here’’ ?

Your profile page shows Arizona Flag - not Florida.

I’ve lived in Florida for 20+ years and I’ve yet to meet any transplant from California.

Now that they’ve turned to ballot stuffing and count rigging it really doesn’t matter much, does it?

But they asked for country rural areas. I noticed a lot that fit that description when I was last through the panhandle area a few years ago. 8>)

I'm sure there are plenty of areas that also fit that description up and down the main body of Florida once you move inland from the coastline.

So I was just giving them a starting point to work from. 8>)

Your map would be a useful tool for the person as well. 8>)
