As I understand it, Big Drecch, under Section 230, is only allowed to censor forms of speech generally regarded as injurious (for example, racism, obscenity, and, presumably, libel). Unfortunately, they have enough clout with the feds to effectively stop them from actually enforcing the Section 230 agreement.

So they can basically be publishers while having the immunities of platforms.

Only if it is the State wide dog catcher.

An elected position that does not exist.

“ Now Trump can file lawsuits against Fartbook….”

Excellent point.

Re: "This is a State Law...and so generally Fed courts do not get involved."

There is a time honored legal solution to that barrier.

The Political Left will just claim a violation of the Interstate Commerce Act.

>>They want the protections of a public platform, but then they want to behave like an Editor. An Editor can censor, but then they have liability.

There comes a point in commercial media where they still have to grant candidates for office equal airtime. Deplatforming and rejecting one candidate’s political ads would appear to violate that.

I can think of one wealthy Floridian who recently moved to Mar-a-Lago who might be able to make some small use of this new legislation...

The tourism industry owns Florida. It’s the #1 revenue source. #2 is the justice system with their high dollar and high volume citation, probation, incarceration rates.

Seat belt ticket was $116 ten years ago when I left. I got one not too long before we left. Cops in FL can and will pull you over strictly for that. It’s easy money.

The only exemption seems to be this:

“The term does not include any information service, system, Internet search engine, or access software provider operated by a company that owns and operates a theme park.”

No problem. Jim just needs to put a water slide for the kids in his back yard.

They won’t get much money if they do. JimRob is working on a shoestring budget.

Speaking if which, have you (collective you) donated this month?

' Imagine if your phone company canceled your phone because they did not like what you said?'

That's the entire point of a business, discriminating who I want. I shouldn't have to be forced to bake the cake. Tough titty said the kitty on the phone.

This is the opposite of a free market. Sure, get rid of the protections for these media platforms, but don't force Jim not to be able to ban people or have FR the way he wants it.

Good afternoon.

Please don’t pay attention to Joe’s post regarding Florida.

Don’t think about coming here from a blue state.

We have cockroachs the size of small birds, and they can fly.

We got some nasty snakes. Sure, we got coral snakes and different types of rattlesnakes, etc and they can kill, but mostly stay to themselves...

The southern water moccasin is different. If you are in his AO, all bets are off. Whether in a dingy, on the bank or in the water, your ass is his.

Don’t feed the alligators.

Did I mention hurricanes? Things like John’s Pass in Mad beach and Hoby Sound on the east coast were created by hurricanes.

Y’all remember Calloway and Mexico beach? No? Because they aren’t there anymore because of hurricane Michael.

Remember all the water draining out of Tampa Bay? No? Look it up.

Mosquitos. Lot’s and lots of mosquitoes.

No, dont come to Florida unless you and your family can handle themselves and vote conservative.

Did I mention Florida man?

Stay home. It’s for your own good.

moved here in 82 from NY havent looked back or been back, love the rural life love the gators, wild life, rather have a good hurricane than mud slides or blizzards, bugs no problem. Neighbors friendly, crime low, taxes low, great governor red state. No masks no BS.
