If California education officials have their way, generations of students may not know how to calculate an apartment’s square footage or the area of a farm field, but the “mathematics” of political agitation and organizing will be second nature to them. Encouraging those gifted in math to shine will be a distant memory.
This will be the result if a proposed mathematics curriculum framework, which would guide K-12 instruction in the Golden State’s public schools, is approved by California’s Instructional Quality Commission in meetings this week and in August and ratified by the state board of education later this year.
The framework recommends eight times that teachers use a troubling document, “A Pathway to Equitable Math Instruction: Dismantling Racism in Mathematics Instruction.” This manual claims that teachers addressing students’ mistakes forthrightly is a form of white supremacy. It sets forth indicators of “white supremacy culture in the mathematics classroom,” including a focus on “getting the right answer,” teaching math in a “linear fashion,” requiring students to “show their work” and grading them on demonstrated knowledge of the subject matter. “The concept of mathematics being purely objective is unequivocally false,” the manual explains. “Upholding the idea that there are always right and wrong answers perpetuates ‘objectivity.’ ” Apparently, that’s also racist.

Sounds like they are advocating a statewide leave every child behind curriculum, especially when it comes to math. Now that they have mandated gay history into the curriculum, could gay math be far behind.
Why should students (who cannot read) know more math than your typical DemocRAT politician?

Is this just a way to excuse black failure in math and to blame it on Whitey? blacks can’t do math problems and fail exams, so the exams and math must be at fault, not the homelife, lack of father, and study habits of the black kids.

The world is relative today (meaning whatever you see as wrong you should take as right or true), inclusive (except for you), tolerant (except for your ideas), diverse (unless it is to a special groups advantage: you don’t hear any outcry to have quotas for more male teachers, or to get more whites and Asians on basketball teams, do you?)...
***Modern society is just as racist as it was in the 50s, only today you have quota’s for special groups, scholarships for special groups, schools for special groups, even the vaccine roll out was targeting special groups, federal employers target special groups in their recruitment efforts, the police is concerned when dealing with special people and even justice takes special class into consideration (Ashley Bobbit vs. Daunte Wright), special groups get to say what they want and won’t face censorship as frequently...
I have a son and a daughter. If my daughter applied for ANY federal job, do you think the competition for her is as fierce as it is for my son? The world is not fair until through a quota they ensure you have equality in outcome.
