No charges will be filed against North Carolina sheriff's deputies involved in the fatal April shooting of Andrew Brown Jr., a 42-year-old [black] man whose family claims he was "executed" as he sat in his car.
Elizabeth City, North Carolina, District Attorney Andrew Womble said at a news conference on Tuesday morning that the three deputies who opened fire on Brown, a father of seven, were justified in their use of deadly force because Brown drove his vehicle toward them and allegedly made contact with them twice before they fired their weapons.

At this point, who gives a good f@#$. Defund nothing. Sh!t happens. It’s hardly ever racism, but sometimes it is. Investigate it honestly, and enough with the mostly peaceful riots.
Bryson City and Western NC in general (except maybe for Asheville) seems to be the antithesis of 'woke central'. Not a lot of blm or antifa activity in that region.
My wife and I rented a cabin there in October of 2016 during a trip to the Smoky Mountains. I remember seeing so many Trump signs in the area, that it became clear that I was in 'friendly' territory especially coming from NJ where I have to keep a low political profile.
Bryson City has a nice little, quaint downtown area that should be fun with the weather warming up. Have an enjoyable trip. You should be well insulated from any "peaceful protests" in Western NC. Love the Smoky Mountains region (TN / NC).

If you go to Bryson City via Maggie Valley be sure to flip the finger to the Our Place Inn as you drive past. They are the ones that put ACAB on their sign.

There was a court order to release body cam footage to the public?
District Attorney Andrew Womble showed bodycam footage that he said shows Andrew Brown Jr. was driving his car toward deputies when they opened fire.
Unless something changed recently the last I had heard was that the police could provide redacted portions of the police bodycams to the family of Brown but not the whole think and not to the media or public.

There was a similar case a year or so ago in a Kansas City suburb of Overland Park. Police were called to a potential suicide and when the kid backed out of the garage one officer emptied his pistol into the van and killed the kid. The shooting was ruled justified because of police body cams, though the police paid the officer in question tens of thousands of dollars to quit and go away. Earlier this year a police dash cam footage was released which gave a different view and made it clear that the officer in question really wasn't in any danger at all. Unless all the film of this shooting is available it's impossible to know what really happened.
when the fathers “step up” the black female loses all her gummit benefits. compliance for child support payments in the white soccer mom world is well over 85%. The mom can take the guy’s wallet per the gummit and keep the guy from seeing his child whether or not they were ever married.
Not exactly an incentive to marry and have a family.
