On Monday, the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) shared footage of the airstrike that took out one of Hamas’ key allies in Gaza, a leader of the Iran-backed terrorist group Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine. Along with Hamas, Islamic Jihad forms part of the Alliance of Palestinian Forces, which rejects the Oslo Accords and aims to erase Israel and establish an Islamic Palestinian state “from the river to the sea.”
“This is the moment we targeted Islamic Jihad Northern Division Commander in Gaza, Hussam Abu Harbid,” IDF announced on Twitter. “As an Islamic Jihad commander for 15 years, he was behind rocket launches, shootings, & anti-tank missile attacks on Israel. He won’t be committing any more terrorist attacks.”

There was a cartoon showing the Israeli leader meeting with Arafat (I think), with John Kerry moderating. Arafat is holding up a sign that reads something like “Death to all Jews”. Kerry then looks to the Israeli and says: “Well, can you meet them halfway?”

My first thought was which US official was referenced in the headline, but not yet.
Iran is the real political entity behind the missile attacks. Iran supplied the rockets and whatever necessary financing to Hamas to launch their “rocket barrage”. The real reason is that Iran needs to know the current capabilities, tactics and upgrades to Israel’s Iron Dome defenses. Unless Iran is able to counter effectively with medium range, stealthy,Chinese made ballistic missiles they have positioned in Syrian territory they control, Israel will have no serious concerns regarding counter strikes if they decide to definitively destroy Iranian nuclear facilities. The Iranians arrange these “rocket barrages” about every three years to collect intelligence. Hamas and the Palestinians are sacrificial pawns.

Israel should only quit when Hamas agrees to not only total ceasefire, but also surrender of its entire stocks of missiles . Which they won’t do. So pound all of Gaza into rubble and force all survivors to exit elsewhere . Then go in and bulldoze and grade the entire place . Turn it back into fields . Filled with Jewish farmer settlers .
