Here's a terrible story out of Chile that bodes ill for its status as Latin America's wealthiest country and biggest success story.
According to Reuters:
Chile's center-right ruling coalition suffered a shock loss on Sunday night after failing to secure a critical one-third of seats in the body that will draft the country's new constitution.
With 90% of the votes counted, candidates backed by President Sebastian Pinera's centre-right Chile Vamos coalition had won only a fifth while independents picked up the most votes. New proposals will require two-thirds approval and without a third of the delegates, the government will struggle to block radical changes to the constitution unless it can forge new alliances.
The result and defeats for Chile Vamos candidates in mayoral, governatorial and municipal elections held at the same time bode ill for the ruling coalition ahead of general and presidential elections in November.
The numbers lineup is even worse than Reuters reported:
CNN's local channel in Chile projected independents would win 45 seats, Chile Vamos would gain 39, the centre-left 25, the far-left 28 and a small coalition would take one seat. Seventeen seats have been reserved for members of Chile's indigenous communities who are not mentioned in the present charter.
That's the rabid and supposedly not-so-rabid left taking 53 seats out of 155 total. What does that mean? I am not a big watcher of Chilean politics, based on the paucity of news here, but here is a first draft round of what I so far know:
Far-left Chileans don't even try to disguise who they are as they do over here; they enjoy advertising themselves as full-blown Castroite communists, all truth in advertising.
That leaves the regular left, and I suspect that all of their claims of being sane leftists is pure window dressing.

No Pinochet to save them this time.
Oddly, that should spell CUBA. The little Communists there have once again starting pushing into Latin America.
This time around, I don’t see Russian Vodka, but Chinese rice as the source of their new efforts.
Pineras brother saved their retirement system. He could do the same here. Theur problem down there is that they’re not as mean as Pinochet had to be.
Democracy is another form of War in the 21st century.
Probably vote fraud. It is everywhere now.
Wow, and they were not even tricked into going socialist like Venezuelans were. If you are Chilean with money, you get out NOW.
Any dominion machines used?
The ordinary public is too stupid to think about the consequences of its votes. It votes for more benefits and doesn’t realize that the benefits come with a loss of freedom.
The only way to pay for those benefits is to take money from those who earn it. But the earners resist the theft, leading government to adopt repressive measures to take it, which is commonly known as statism/fascism.
Where is the original orange man, Pinochet, just when Chile needs him? Dig him up, I say.

Was Dominion involved?
Yep! Socialism will always be popular with those who think they can get something for nothing.
Sounds like a replay of 1969-1973 with Salvador Allende. You would think the Chileans had learned a lesson from it.
This will get interesting. Peru’s presidential elections are in less than a month. On the ticket is someone who thinks Venezuela and Cuba are model countries and has allegedly been linked to the shining path. .
Most of the heroes that saved Chile the last time have been pursued and prosecuted ever since for "crimes against humanity" (delitos de lesa humana). Meanwhile, terrorists and thugs are celebrated as "victims" and are awarded pensions that pay tens of thousands a year.
The current President, Sebastían Piñera, is spineless in the face violent revolutionists. He'd rather rather let vandals, arsonist and looters run wild than be accused of "violating human rights".
It's all very sad what's happening in what used to be a very pleasant, civilized and prosperous country.
Yeah...that was my question...did DOMINION count the votes?
Dominion vote machines.....?
And it does it every time. We were warned. And it's why the USA was set up as a Republic, but even with our check and balances, the water got below and we're sinking fast.
