Daily death projection through August. It's not over yet. It's gotten a lot better, and it will drop all summer.

Your legal rights are what they say they are.

It’s all over the place, not just the US.

Laws don’t mean anything if courts won’t follow it, or worse, make up their own.

Welcome toFR.

You are aware, aren’t you, that this virus will not be with us like this forever?

The Spanish Flu in the 1900’s was far more deadly, and yet burned itself out in a couple years with NO vaccines.

Viruses do that. The projections you are posting as just fear mongering. It’s pure speculation because nobody knows for sure what’s going to happen this fall.

I know several people who complained of flu like symptoms over the winter

Covid = 0

Has anyone got estimate of how many people got Covid and recovered and never got counted because they never went to see a doctor?

I think I had it last year April but nobody was doing any testing unless you could prove direct, personal contact with a person who tested positive.

I never even went to the doctor. What was the point?

Did you have altered smell and taste? That seems to be a defining symptom proving Covid infection.

You can get tested for antibodies to Covid to prove whether you were infected already or are not or no longer immune. If no antibodies, I recommend vaccination soon as possible.

With all the handwashing and mask wearing and avoidance of others, I think there was a great deal less flu than usual. Ask your friends if they had alterations in their smell and taste. That could clue them in on if it was really Covid, not flu.

“I think there was a great deal less flu than usual”

Maybe, but there is no way there was so much covid, no flu. They are both similar as a contagion.

If no antibodies, I recommend vaccination never.

They want us to believe that there was no “flu” because people were distancing, washing their hands, and wearing masks.

They also want us to believe that the WuFlu was spreading like wildfire because people weren’t distancing, weren’t washing their hands, and weren’t wearing masks.

I know there is controversy on this vaccination. Some people have made a good argument vis-a-vis its potential harmful side effects and that this is still not a totally proven vaccine, being released early due to the emergency situation.

But why do you believe “vaccination never?”

Is it just this vaccination? Is it for standing up for independent decision-making and not caving in to government mandates.

Are there no vaccines you approve or just this vaccine you have such an emotional negative response to?

Oh, and let me add another reason you may be suspicious of this vaccine.

Do I trust the government, especially our compromised CDC, to give us the honest facts about this vaccine? I have to admit that the answer is no. After all, their opening shot was to hold back approval until after the 2020 Election.

I’m just going on my long term knowledge of vaccines and their development and the exponential spread of pandemic viruses to believe that the risks of the virus is greater than the risk of deep state fiddling with the results of the studies.

Risk to certain cohorts like obese, diabetic, elderly, hypertensive, etc being seen as greatest, but risk to young healthy individuals being low. I recommend vaccination to those at high risk, others can skip it and come by their immunity naturally.

Still, there is the long virus syndrome that even young people are susceptible to...risking that is something to consider.

Oh don’t get me wrong. I like my job, I like my company. They have been exceptional for this last year. Really took care of the employees. Minimized layoffs and furloughs. The family didn’t take salaries.

End of the day, this is a team I inherited.

Thanks, though. It all works out :)

I imagine there are a lot of folks, preparing to go back into the offices (full time), with mixed feelings!

All the best, to you, DG!!

I think it is fair to ask how this organization’s projections of fatalities have compared to actual reported numbers, the last year or so. Like the National Weather Service, nobody seems to report such information succinctly or make it easily found.* I did monitor the projections on Worldometers for quite some time, and after some wildness early on, from roughly April 2020 through the end of 2020, given all the unknowns and maybes, I’d say those projections were pretty good - conservative, if anything. THIS source I’m unfamiliar with, however.

*To be fair, while my local NWS office does not post graphs of their forecasts vs. actual measurements, they DO sometimes lampoon model and forecast “misses” in their forecast discussions — more so than some other local NWS offices, I’d say. :-)

What it comes down to for me is that I trust Moderna (the vaccine I got) more than I trust China. And my 90 y/o Mom is at high risk for COVID fatality, while my risk of eventually getting COVID at least bad enough to give it to her is fairly high. (I still believe a mildly symptomatic COVID case is more likely to spread the virus than a truly asymptomatic case.)

Not that I can recall on the taste and smell issue.

I thought the antibody test was only good for a few months.

I was sick in 2020.

I don’t plan on getting a vaccine for this ever.

Too many allergies to risk it and for once it’s a great excuse.

But I wouldn’t get it anyways. I don’t trust those pushing it so hard.
