Cloward and Piven believed that by overloading (and collapsing) the government with welfare cases, they could force the government to take effective measures against poverty. They never did explain how this magic transformation was going to happen. The left keeps trying to carry out the Cloward and Piven strategy to destroy the economy and burden the government (i.e. taxpayers) with ever-increasing welfare loads, but not a one of them can explain how such a strategy can lead to anything other than disaster. It certainly won't usher in the utopia they all want.
