Gov. Tim Walz said Thursday he’ll sign an order Friday ending Minnesota’s statewide mask-wearing mandate following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance allowing fully vaccinated people to stop wearing masks.
Calling it a great day for Minnesota, the governor continued to plead with unvaccinated Minnesotans to get their shots to hold back the spread of COVID-19.

Just drop ALL mask mandates to INCLUDE MANDATORY MASKING OF SCHOOL CHILDREN. Let those who want to be vaccinated get vaccinated and those who don’t want to be vaccinated be free to not be vaccinated.

And those who have gotten the vaccine, have tested positive, and are spreading it to us healthy unvaccinated people.
If over 60% have herd immunity, then 60% or more of the unvaccinated are also immune. It’s time for ALL states, including OREGON, to dump the masks after what the CDC said.

I’ve been ‘wearing’ my mask looped behind my ears and slung comfortably under my chin. In the early days of the mandate (summer ‘20?), I used to see people wear it that way and wonder what they were thinking. Now, I know. They were thinking what I now think. “Go ahead. Make my born-on-the-4th-of-July ass wear this niqab.”
Sure, there are some. But numerically speaking there are far more "healthy" unvaccinated people getting COVID than vaccinated people. Don't know the exact numbers yet, but 10 to 1 is a good guess.
Well, when you find the official statistics for that, please share them, because as far as I know, no one is keeping track of the number of vaccinated people who have contracted the virus, or the number of unvaccinated people they have infected. It doesn’t seem to be important to anyone.
In general the CDC tracks the bad breakthrough cases. There were about 10,000 with 100,000,000 partly or fully vaccinated people. They admitted on that web page that there were more they didn't know about. But most of the rest were so minor that the people didn't know they had it.
You can easily argue the same is true for COVID, many people don't even know they have it. There's no difference IMO between COVID in vaccinated people and unvaccincated people. Same percentage of undetected cases. Same hospitalization and death (about 8% and 1%) in the tested cases (serious enough symptoms to get tested ).
But the vaccine studies show vaccinated fewer people get COVID with the same aggregate exposure (apples to apples). There's pretty strong evidence even outside of those studies. One percent of Americans got COVID. Now 0.01% of vaccinated Americans are getting COVID (counting tested cases only for both) Granted the time periods are different: a whole year of exposure vs a few months. But that's 100 to 1. Even if it goes to 10 to 1 the vaccine is still worth it and it won't get that low.

Yesterday I walked into a Cub in Plymouth, MN without wearing a mask. Nobody stopped me and told me to put on a mask. It was an experiment. Today I walked into a 1/2 price book store w/o a mask and a clerk jumped me. I pulled out my mask and announced that I was fully vaccinated and wouldn’t breathe on anybody and make them die.
3 hours later, the Governor rescinded mask mandate.
Now Minneapolis and St. Paul have told Walz to pound sand.
I am surprised that the two boy mayors have enough courage to buck governor klink.
