I’m in Indian Land SC at the NC border and and least 2 stations on the major artery (Rt 521) are out of gas with another showing a line of about 100 cars.
People are so freakin’ stupid. The are working hard to make their greatest fears become a reality.
How many days supply does 50% of all local vehicle tank capacity represent?
Fun pic.
Looks like a marina [boats everywhere...].
Yeah, but I’m 20 miles away from there and it’s the same thing—out.
Those were the days my FRiend. Can 100% pure polyester and sansabelt be far behind? One can only hope.
Great question, maybe one of our experts on here can answer.
I remember in 1979 I got free tickets to the Indy 500, and the Iran “Energy Crisis” under Jimmuh Carter was in full swing. I had a GM pickup with two 20 gallon tanks, and also a bunch of 5 gallon jerry cans. Spent hours in line in Ohio getting this all topped up with enough on board to make the round trip without refueling.
Got to Indy for the race, all the stations were open with no lines. Govt had sent extra fuel there expecting the demand, LOL.
“I dont think demand is up 32%, supply is down....”
If demand goes up and resupply in interrupted then it follows that supply on hand is diminished. Diminished supply along with increased demand is a text book case for a price increase.
The immutable law of supply/demand visits us once again.
“I dont think demand is up 32%”
Demand?
Sales would be a more easily obtained bit [Byte? Bite?] of data.
Elections? Really? How did that work out last time?
Is that a pre-exploded Pinto, center next to the sign and the man?
So then Nixon imposed the 55 mph speed limit and made sure he got thrown out of office.
Only Trump can fix that, so we’ll have to see.
Oh no, the government is going to have to take charge. S/
We’ll never get it back.
Midlands of SC - lines and many stations have run out.
Navarre, FL Tom Thumb OUT
‘bout the same here in MO
We have two vehicles, a 30mpg car and an F150 that gets half that mpg and is rarely used. I’m going to fill the tank on it tomorrow. Get it before it goes any higher and it can also be a reserve if things go real haywire. Got a Silverado sitting here with 3/4 tank too.
Not to mention that most tanks are under 1/2 full generally.
NE OK....
My dad made a point to bring me along once to wait in line for gas.
