No one in India is safe. This infection has seeped so deeply into the community that it is impossible to avoid the virus with its new, seemingly more infectious mutations, spreading through entire families like wildfire.
Yesterday, India recorded a record coronavirus death toll for the third day running.
Since Wednesday, there have been more than one million infections in what has now been described as the most deadly outbreak in the world. The worst affected areas, including New Delhi, Mumbai and the state of Maharashtra, have run out of hospital beds and oxygen, the lifesaver that Covid sufferers most desperately need.
And patients are suffocating to death because of the shortage – 21 in a single hospital, it was reported yesterday. The government is now deploying military planes and trains to rush oxygen to the capital while the High Court has ruled anyone found obstructing supplies will face the death penalty.

Great post. The driveby media are owned by all the wrong people, hopefully the great reset will solve these problems.
The virus mutated. Have to wonder how long before the current vaccines are no good. The world will need new medicine for treatments and modified vaccines.
Covid-19 is an 7pper respiratory virus. Those have seasons, like the flu.
This is year 2 of it. The second year. But they act like the stats should be cumulative, instead of resetting the counters.
India’s biggest healthcare related problem is the same as the UK’s: Its NHS.
Let’s hear it for socialized medicine.
Looks like China has released a new variant.🤔
#12:. Thank you!
****But. But. They have ivermectin and hcq widely distributed. How can this be? These are CURES.****
Distributed to who exactly? Can you say two tier society?
I have family in India, they know what is going on.
Just for reference: India has 4 times our population, our worst day was a bit over 300,000 cases (so 1.2 million cases in India to be the same proportion). We also had many days over 200,000 case (so 800,000 cases would be needed in India). For deaths, our worst days were 4,000 deaths (about 10 different days), with many days over 3,000 deaths. For India that would mean 16,000 deaths in one day, or 12,000 deaths in one day.
So far, India’s worst day (yesterday) was 350,000 cases and just under 3,000 deaths (also yesterday). Although their numbers are still rising daily, India still has a LONG WAY to go to catch us, during our worst days.
I came here to write the same thing...
I got the Pfizer vaccine with only a sore arm and mild fever that lasted a day. I think getting the vaccine here while its available to anyone who wants it is a good move. The last thing we need is a bunch of hold outs so that those vaccines get shipped abroad and then all those people end up getting sick.
The developing world countries have had the advantage of universal BCG vaccination (which we don’t have), but it is looking like the more exposure you get, the worse it is, so the protection they currently have isn’t going to hold.
The US Peak was about 300,000 new infections per day in January, and the current 7-day average is about 60,000 new infections per day in the US.
Welcome back.
The total numbers are huge because of India's population, but still the nation's stats in comparison to other nations are significantly below.
One example, the death rate in the US. 567,000/31,700,00, deaths divided by total cases = 1.79% compared to the 1.14% in India.
Putting things in perspective was not the intent of this article and it'll take a few weeks to evaluate it more objectively.
“The Indians should just come to FR and then they could find out that Covid is completely fake.”
I have seen that accusation expressed on FR much more than the assertion on FR that Covid is fake. I don’t know why it is constantly being claimed.
The sentiment I have seen expressed, many times, on this site is that Covid is being exploited for ulterior motives and that is a sentiment expressed across the whole nation, not just on FR.
India is a filthy country. No disease outbreak should come as a surprise.
I read a story about a symptomatic covid sufferer running around all over town trying to save his grandmother who was dying without access to oxygen. He was able to park her for a few hours at an ER so that he could continue his quest. Thats where India is right now in some of the cities. The situation is very dire.
Looks like China has released a new variant.
^ This + 1
The real covid deaths in India is in the millions.
One town said the covid deaths for their town on one particular day was 30 when they had over 300.
The govt is lying through their teeth.
Plus, even in normal times only 25% of deaths even have a death certificate.
The real deaths in India are in the millions. The govt is lying through their teeth
