Fox News host Jeanine Pirro agreed with a Minnesota jury's guilty verdict in the trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin and predicted the convictions would hold against an appeal.
Pirro, a former district attorney and an ally of former President Donald Trump who often praises law enforcement, said the decision to convict Chauvin of second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter in the death of George Floyd was "supported by the facts."
"I've tried many murder cases, and I've sat as a judge on murder cases. It is rare that you even get a picture of the victim in a murder case ... but here, we had a living, breathing person that the jury was able to relate to. ... This was an emotional as well as an intellectual decision," she said on Tuesday. "And when I say that, make no mistake: The facts are solid on this verdict. This verdict will be upheld on appeal."
Pirro applauded the convictions as proof that "the American justice system works."
"For all those people that want to burn down streets, just let the court do its job," she added.

“What about the other cops....what happens to them? “
Three of them have been charged with various accessory crimes.
STOP WATCHING FOX!
They all got their marching orders. Sadly it will be open season on cops.
“I think if I’d been on that jury I would have acquitted him of all charges.”
Isn’t there a thing called jury intimidation? I bet there was huge pressure.
That said glad the scheduled riots have been postponed...
How’s that Kool Aid taste judge?
Ywp. I did the same with Mona Charen a week or so ago.
Botox has a detrimental effect upon cognitive ability.
Neither murder charge was justified. The judge is simply afraid to speak the truth.
My advice to Chauvin was to get the hell out of dodge. He was put up as a patsy and would never get a fair trial. He should have boogied! I sure would have!
“What’s a cop to think?”
And what are they to do? I did not watch the whole trial, but I believe I followed it pretty closely and watched clips of some of the testimony. I agree with everything you said. There is now no doubt; this country is being run by the mob and criminals. It’s really a shame.
every single one on The Five jumped onboard the conviction train, and praised the jury for their courage. One person on there even went so far as to say that the jury ignored the threats, riots, and the fear for their safety, and delivered a good verdict.
Fentanyl & heart disease.
He was not convicted of three counts of manslaughter.
Sound like Jeanine went tribal, to be expected, sadly.
.........well, it was Nikki Haley that caved first, then Kristi Noem now Jeannine Pirro..................just when I was beginning to think that in todays world the girls had more balls than the boys.................!
The verdict and the entire process from the arrest day to today was moved along out of fear highlighted by John Roberts himself saying so!
Floyd killed himself, period!
The fact of the matter is that Chauvin threw the case by refusing to take the stand. The jury disregarded the defense medical witnesses. They probably didn’t pay any attention to the prosecution’s medical witnesses either. This case came down to the 9 minute video. It showed a cop kneeling on a handcuffed man for 9 minutes while he cried for his mama.
Regardless of whether he was dying of a drug overdose or a hangover, the jury saw an emotionless cop just holding him down until the life left him.
The defense did not even raise the possibility that this was just an unfortunate accident. They hung their hat on the drug overdose theory and the evidence there was conflicting, so they probably just tossed it out before they finished their first donuts or pizza.
By failing to get Chauvin on the stand to explain his thoughts and actions, the jury was free to infer from his actions on the video an evil intent or reckless disregard for the life of Mr. Floyd. Which is exactly what they did.
Chauvin’s only hope in this case was a negligent homicide verdict and he shut the door on that by not raising it as a defense to the murder charges and not taking the stand in his own defense.
This won’t be overturned on appeal. Chauvin may have had a chance on the murder charges, but he pissed that away by not even raising the possibility that this was an accident.
Caved to pressure
“Supported by the facts”.
Facts can be subjective and worthless without critical thinking.
Might as well skip the trial altogether for the other cop Potter who shot Saint Dante.
Kind of sad to see someone you respect get taken in.
Even more sad to see FReepers defending a dirty cop like Chauvin. I guarantee you he didn’t only mistreat black thugs like Saint Floyd.
