Chauvin has multiple avenues of appeal and has a legal right to exercise them. Most people do want this to go away, but the courts are packed full of cases that everyone just wants to go away. Nobody wants to sit through a case of graphic child abuse. Nobody wants to sit through a case of patent infringement for some obscure technology no one will ever even use. Yet these cases must be heard.
Derek Chauvin will have his appeals - as he is entitled - and those appeals will eventually take place outside the spotlight where they belong. High profile, high pressure cases don’t typically produce fair results. With time, things will calm down to a point where fair results are possible.
Nothing is going to happen on appeal. There is no judge alive who would vote to overturn this travesty. Not in Minnesota anyway. The mob rules.
A fantasy thought for the day? People in top positions in this government criminally undermined, compromised and attempted to overthrow a legitimately elected president, and when that failed they totally rigged the entire election.
There is no "fair" anymore.
‘With time, things will calm down to a point where fair results are possible.’
in this case, where an example is being made and in which the social justice zeitgeist is being forced on us like a knee on the neck, there will be a lot of time before anybody is anxious to bring this up again...
Chauvin is on his own, he has no in his corner at all...
