Coca-Cola says it's 'time to find common ground' on voting measures after pressure from the Right
Washington Examiner ^ | 04/17/2021 | Zachary Halaschak

Coca-Cola, whose CEO denounced the Georgia voting bill, is now striking a conciliatory tone after coming under pressure from conservatives.

The soda giant, which is based in Atlanta, was absent from a list of more than 500 corporations and individuals that signed a statement condemning any election legislation that would “restrict” voters from having “an equal and fair opportunity to cast a ballot.” The missive was placed as a two-page Wednesday ad in the New York Times and Washington Post, with the effort being organized by the Black Economic Alliance.

Coca-Cola said in a statement to the Washington Examiner on Wednesday that the company “had not seen the letter” initiated by the alliance but is “certainly open to hearing their perspective." It said it has supported the right to vote and that it will assess how to support voting rights.

“We believe the best way to make progress now is for everyone to come together to listen, respectfully share concerns and collaborate on a path forward. We remain open to productive conversations with advocacy groups and lawmakers who may have differing views," the company said. "It’s time to find common ground. In the end, we all want the same thing – free and fair elections, the cornerstone of our democracy.”

Coca-Cola’s Wednesday remarks are notably less confrontational than its previous statements on the Georgia voting law.

This strikes a much different tone from what Coca-Cola’s CEO said after the Georgia voting bill was passed.

Then, the CEO called the bill a “step backwards”.

He also claimed that the election integrity bill was “wrong” and needed to be “remedied”.

Far-left ABC reported:

Hours later, Coca-Cola’s CEO joined Delta’s in condemning the legislation, calling it a “step backwards” in an interview with CNBC.

“This legislation is wrong and needs to be remedied, and we will continue to advocate for it, both in private and now even more clearly in public,” Quincy said. “The reality is many things are improved and done and achieved in private without having to take a public stand, but in this case, it does not work, clearly, and so we’re being more forceful in our public position.”

Of course, Coca-Cola requires ID at their shareholder meetings!!

The “Progressives” March through the Halls of our institutions include Corporations. Too many woke Boards to conclude otherwise.

I’ve got some common ground. You’re a company, you make cancer water, you do that and let us worry about the proper way to do elections.

The only common ground I see is that they hate the right and now we know they hate us.

NO.

Coke can get bent.

Voter ID and Voter integrity are paramount to a Democratic state.

It is RACIST of Coca-Cola to insinuate that minorities and black people are unable to obtain free IDs when the majority of them already have them.

Now - if you want to argue for more polling places to lessen line times, I’m all for that - but that’s an entirely different argument that Woca-cola doesn’t want to make.

TL;DR - They blinked - make them pay for it.

The Georgia law is more than “common ground.” It still allows early voting and all sorts of room for shenanigans.

We believe the best way to make progress now is for everyone to come together to listen, respectfully share concerns and collaborate on a path forward.

And therein lies the rub. Communists aren't interested in listening to others concerns. You chose poorly this time Coca-Cola. Better luck next time. If there is a next time for you.

There are so many companies that we need a strategy to send a message. Instead of scattering the boycott across many, pick a target to take down en masse. It is better to hit one company like Coke with 70 million consumers at one time than try to boycott hundreds at once.

Pick a target, polarize it, ruin it.

If these companies were wise, they would issue a statement to the effect of “We appreciate our popularity for the things we make/sell/do but that doesn’t mean we think we are wiser than our consumer on other matters.” It’s too late for Coke, et al to “unsing” their song but other companies should consider doing it.

We are supposed to “come together” on this issue of “election integrity” Well, let’s see. The Democrats want no voter ID, no verification of identity for absentee ballots, unlimited mail in voting, and no restrictions on anything they deem “Jim Crow racist”.

Since what they want basically enables any kind of vote or election fraud, what is the common ground between that and honest elections, without voter and election fraud? Partial fraud?

There can be no compromise on this. NO FRAUD, NOT NOW, NOT EVER.
