The Arizona Senate is poised to begin a major audit of over two million ballots cast in the 2020 election in the state's largest county, a process the state Senate president claims has been stymied by county officials and which the county claims rests on legally uncertain ground.
Senate subpoenas to the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors for information and equipment needed to perform the audit have been pending since Dec. 15, 2020 and were upheld by a judge on Feb. 25. In mid-March, the state Senate announced that Republicans in that chamber would be conducting a "broad and detailed" review of Maricopa's ballots, one that would involve "testing the machines, scanning the ballots, performing a full hand count and checking for any IT breaches," among other approaches.
Legislators have been working to hammer out the specific details of the audit in the weeks since. State Senate President Karen Fann tells Just the News that the actual audit process will begin within the next week.
The state Senate faced a battle in court in order to proceed with the audit, Fann noted, one that ultimately went in favor of Arizona Republicans.
"It's taken the Senate two and a half months to win in court to uphold our right to issue subpoenas for election materials," she said, "and another 6 weeks of researching to select the audit team to perform the full forensic audit."
Fann claimed that state Republicans have faced "sabotage" from Maricopa County's Board of Supervisors.
"The Maricopa BOS has refused to allow us to perform the audit at their facilities," she said, "and has gone so far as to refusing to even answer simple questions such as 'how are the ballots sequestered?'"

This audit came about because the Senate FORCED the Maricopa Supervisors to do the audit under threat of contempt.
Maricopa managed to delay things for months.

That’s my point. Why would anyone in government want to throw down spike strips in front of policies which would help eliminate election fraud?
They should all be fired on the spot.

Chain of custody needs to be maintained. There should be cameras and armed guards during loading and transport.
The stadium needs to be secured and wired with video cameras. The entire recount process needs to be recorded and monitored.
Anything less and tampering will be claimed.
They will claim chain of custody has been broken.
Police escort from the pickup site to the recount site is called for.
If all they do is load up a truck in the dead of night, then this whole exercise is academic.

Recall what happened to some of the “protesters” in PHX during a Trump rally. Kinda ended bluntly and rapidly for them.
Last I knew they still needed volunteers to help with he audit.

If this had been ballots that went for a Republican candidate and were suspected of being fraudulent, a Democrat-controlled state Senate would have had the National Guard in there within days and the audit would have been completed in plenty of time to reverse the result if any discrepancies were found.

If the Georgia Secretary of State is in charge of voting he has the responsibility of enforcing the state’s regulations as to who votes. And eliminate those from voter lists who don’t qualify.
Assign prosecutors to personally canvass and investigate. Check if military actually voted by asking them. Identify all voters by checking on legal age their residency and citizenship. If found they do not qualify charge Illegals including state visitors known as snowbirds also include any technical computer fraudulent Italian programming testimony when presenting to the court and get these election results tossed. Four of the five Maricopa Supervisors are Republican.
What exactly is the point of this hand recount?
Every ballot is anonymous.
They have no chain of custody evidence.
Has someone claimed vote counting machine fraud?
The Supervisors are elected officials. They can’t be ‘fired’. They were just up for re-election in 2020.
The recalls are very slow going. I think they won’t be successful because citizens here have given up. I was at a gun show where signatures were being collected, and citizens were saying ‘I don’t want to be a part of that.’
