“Gun silencers are dangerous devices with one purpose and one purpose only—to muffle the sound of gunfire from unsuspecting victims,” Menendez said in a Thursday statement. The only thing this 🤡 knows about guns is what he sees in the movies.
They are called "suppressors" because the muffle the sound of a gunshot enough that it won't damage your hearing, but they don't "silence" anything.

Suppressors are one aspect of “gun safety” (and, specifically gun hearing safety) that you’d think Democrats would support. But apparently not - they want guns to damage everyone’s hearing - even that of innocent bystanders.

The first time I got a chance to fire a suppressed weapon, I loved it.
No chance of seriously damaging your hearing.

Homemade suppressors are illegal without the $200 tax stamp.
No reason for it other than shut up.

The measure will also create a silencer buyback program, give Americans a 90-day period after the bill becomes law, and it would provide exceptions for law enforcement and other personnel. Sounds like a test case for future "buybacks".

Someone’s got a sense of humor. The HEAR act to ban silencers.

These POS Rats talk about gun safety all the time. Suppressors’ number one purpose for your average everyday gun owner is to save their ears at the range. (Well, at least that is what I would use a suppressor for ... in addition to existing ear protection.)

Perhaps Bob should compare the muzzle velocity with the speed of sound at sea level.

Gosh, it seems like it was just yesterday that Donald Trump Jr. was promising us that his father was going to sign the Hearing Protection Act into law and now here we are, waiting for the Democrats to make them illegal even if you already paid for one and bought a tax stamp from the US government authorizing you to possess one. That’s just swell. Thanks Republicans!

“t would provide exceptions for law enforcement and other personnel.”
But he just said” “Gun silencers are dangerous devices with one purpose and one purpose only—to muffle the sound of gunfire from unsuspecting victims,”
So is there a legitimate use or not? Or are the suppressors just for use by government assassins?
