Moderna hopes to have a booster shot for its two-dose Covid vaccine available in the fall, CEO Stephane Bancel told CNBC on Wednesday.
"I want to make sure there are boost vaccines available in the fall so that we protect people as we go into the next fall and winter season in the U.S.," Bancel said in an interview on "Squawk Box."

Bancel on Wednesday reiterated his belief that annual Covid vaccine boosters will be commonplace going forward, saying the coronavirus "is not going away" and it's "not leaving the planet."
"I anticipate in the next year or so, we're going to see a lot of variants. But as more and more people get vaccinated or naturally infected, the pace of the variant is going to slow down and the virus is going to stabilize like you see with flu," he said.
Eventually, Bancel added, Moderna hopes to be able to have a two-in-one vaccine of sorts that protects against seasonal flu and Covid. The company in September announced its intentions to make a flu vaccine.
"What we're trying to do at Moderna actually is to get a flu vaccine in the clinic this year and then combine our flu vaccine to our Covid vaccine so you only have to get one boost at your local CVS store ... every year that would protect you to the variant of concern against Covid and the seasonal flu strain," Bancel said.
"We believe we can get to a high efficacy flu vaccine," he added. On any given year, current flu vaccines are roughly between 40% and 60% effective, according to the CDC.

Some of you probably denounced the polio vaccine. We are getting measles again cause of antivaccers. What a bunch of spoiled brats. At least with that only the jerks who refuse the measle vaccines are getting it.

If you think about it, this is the worst man-made environmental disaster to ever befall the planet. A biological contamination made in a lab that has and will kill millions of people.
And yet the experts just sit there, supposedly clueless about what happened.

Measles vaccine is an answer is search of a problem. Pre measles vaccine, children simply got measles and got over it. Then had immunity for life. Children today being given measles vaccine have exhibited cases where their immunity does not persist. What a convenient source of revenue for the drug companies. Not all childhood diseases are as minor as measles, but drug companies have managed to make people hysterical about every disease, many of which humans are fully capable of surviving.

This is great news to protect us from these dangerous variants. Maybe some of the folks who think this is a joke should go to Brazil for a while and live in the real high zones that has caused the hospital system to collapse.
Brazil got the China Vaccine which caused their issues.
Once the vaccine is ready, there will be many new variants.
That is just not true and it is highly misleading to say people just got over the measles.
I had the measles, was hospitalized and almost died.
People do die from measles and it is highly contagious. Thus, the importance for vaccinations.
Quit making false and misleading comments.
And of course, people die from vaccines.
