Trump blasts Sen. Mitch McConnell at Mar-a-Lago dinner: report

Former President Donald Trump called fellow Republican Mitch McConnell a "son of a bitch" during a donor dinner at his Mar-a-Largo resort in Florida on April 10, 2021.

Former President Donald Trump called Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell a “dumb son of a bitch” during a donor soiree at Mar-a-Lago on Saturday — and joked that the COVID-19 vaccine should be named the “Trumpcine” in his honor, according to accounts of the closed-to-press event.

Trump veered from his prepared remarks when he lashed out at the Kentucky lawmaker, Reuters reported, citing an attendee at the Republican National Committee dinner in Palm Beach, Florida.

Vice President Mike Pence was also a target of the ex-president’s ire.

Trump said he recently told Pence that he was still disappointed in him for not intervening to stop the congressional certification of President Biden’s election win — something the VP didn’t have the authority to do.

McConnell ran with the insurrection nonsense and after spending trillions on foreigners tried to go cheap on Americans in the stimulus bill and he gave the senate to the democrats. Had he did $2k and kept his big mouth shut he might-might have held the senate. With the feckless and cowardly GA GOP that issue was always in doubt anyway.

Can’t blame m-rna vaccine on Trump. Pfizer was already developing it and the drug companies are responsible for what THEY develop and put out.
The should have developed it in the same manner that they developed the MMR vaccine l, but NO, they had to use their m-rna plan which had not been done before. It was all a set up.

Pence, for all of his pomposity and religious sham persona is a deep state weasel.

In my business dealings I learned that it was far better to trust a person that didn't have his/her religion on their shirt sleeve because you knew to beware. With a religious person it was a crap shoot. They might be honest one minute and not another.

Did he say anything regarding his supporters whose lives are being wrecked by the malicious prosecutorial charges related to his rally on January 6th?

Two Republicans had the position to stand as a bulwark against the deep state to protect American at two critical junctures — Sessions and McConnell. I did not think anyone could outdo Sessions for perfidy, but McConnell sailed right past him with gusto.

Exactly. It was the bipartisan nature of the coup that made it so effective. The lack of substantive Senate oversight was a key component of the coup. You can thank China Mitch for that. The GOP Senate could have blown up the hoax impeachment with basic fact gathering. They chose not to damage the MAGA agenda and here we are.

And yet he keeps endorsing Bush League Republicans........

Yeah, this is getting a little weird. Trump blasting China Mitch while sending cash to support him.

The GOP is very good at doing one thing: flipping newly elected officials. They’ve been doing it “successfully” for decades. That is the party’s raison d’être.

It amazes me that people can’t see that. I guess you have to actually be willing to accept reality to understand it.

It’s not ideal, but we can’t change everything overnight either.

The vote to certify the stolen election was 93-7. How many nights should we plan on waiting for change?

The GOP showed more support for Cheney than Trump when he was President.

McConnell is just the tip of the GOP iceberg. He has a lot of support from below. The GOP is never going to change.

He single-handedly destroyed the Trump Presidency.

Yup, which is why we new a new MAGA party. Without the 80 million Trump voters the GOP is the third party. A small RINOs only party. Plus a MAGA party would pick up a lot of moderate Ds that no longer like what the Democrat party has become but would never move to a McConnell's GOP.

After reading the below U.S. Code, I can now see where McConnell could have objected, as well as Pence being the President of the Senate. Again, Pence had the last say to stop the Certification process after it was revealed that some States didn't follow their own Electoral laws, not to mention all the clear evidence of ballot fraud.
