Democrats are coming up with all sorts of schemes to transfer money from the private sector to the government. Their aim is to have more power and money. They truly do not care how many jobs and businesses they destroy in the process.
The newest suggestion is to lower the amount of wealth that can be transferred from one generation to another, from around $11 million currently to one million. It's a horrible idea. This will cause people who inherit small businesses or farms, that have been built up over generations, to liquidate or leverage up to pay the government their huge estate tax bill. Way to go, Democrats, but not surprising.
Why do Democrats think they are entitled to so much of what other people have built?
A much better way to capture wealth from billionaires, which is something they have been talking about since the 1990s, would be to hit up the likes of Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, George Soros, Mark Zuckerberg, and others who set up charitable foundations. They set these up, and then take huge amounts of stock that they paid little for and deduct shares at market value, to offset ordinary income rates fpr themselves, when they never paid capital gains on the increase in value of the stock.
Just change the code to make them pay capital gains rates on the appreciation of the stock. Also, such a tax change could be used when rich people give away art at appreciated value instead of cost. That would have the additional benefit of blocking inflated appraisals.

I would add that a company not having a financial base in the US should not be providing core services to the US Government for anything used in the US.
We don’t allow Chinese electronics dependency in our public infrastructure, for instance. It’s because we have no control over the provenance of the equipment—we can’t trust it because it’s not considered “safe.”

It is a lot of small things that need to be tackled and dismantled. None of that project is going to happen this year or next and much of their agenda is happening dare I say it...at warp speed.
Taxes, taxes, taxes this is a dead horse issue I’ve heard about for 40 years and it NEVER is addressed in the overhaul manner required. To politicians who read FR...Poop or get off the pot already. Tweaking and twerking what we currently have has failed, massively and completely failed. Republicans need to have a new plan to unveil for 2024. Death to the IRS sounds like a great rallying cry for total reform.
Two, the corporate’s woke mechanism of ESG Scores. Glenn Beck has been talking about these like they are about to happen. Hello? Mr. Beck, they are already in the lower banks too. You just haven’t looked hard enough yet. This form of discrimination and business eugenics needs to be outlawed, not endorsed by society. This mechanism affects to flow and velocity of money thereby the economy of the small to medium business owners, will contribute inflation, and eventually collapse of the currency of the dollar.
Lastly, the border. What is happening on the border we keep looking to Washington to do something. Have these border states abdicated their statehood? The governors have control of the National Guard, put your Guard on the border to protect the State, your State. Why are they paralyzed in fear of doing what needs to be done? When the National government fails, our governors need to be ready to act. It is time to act as sovereign states and deal with the consequences later.
Taxes? Shut-up about taxes and get to work on a new system. Stop twerking around with the dead horse. Get an honest to God new plan or system in place to be rolled out and debated, signed into law by 2025. We cannot be afraid to disrupt the current system with a radical new idea that makes the IRS null and void. A tax collecting entity will still exist, but we can come up with a far better system than income tax.

Taxing down to a 1 million dollar inheritance - please! Do we have to fight that again...in 1950 that would have been less than $100,000. They just want to beat down what was left of middle class and have only two classes - elite & peasants!

Yeah...I know. We’ve got to survive what is happening now, but we’ve got to plan for 2024. 2022 will be mild if we can swing it, but we need politicians in place that can affect the changes post Harris-Biden. Than in 2024 swing a majority in congress to be able to break filibusters.
The republican base is focusing too much on what is happening right now, I have seen very little planning for the future. And if the current situation results in collapse...then we still need people who can step up and in to lead us through. Frankly, that’s why I voted for Trump both times. I think he and his family really, are the only ones who can do that job.
