To the contrary, the recognition of an "enemy" is not limited to those countries mentioned in a declaration of war by Congress. In fact, the U.S. Declarations of War (for WWI and WW2) do not use the term, "enemy."

According to 50 USC 39, 2204. the term "enemy" is defined as any country, government, group, or person that has been engaged in hostilities, whether or not lawfully authorized, with the United States.

This definition could include Antifa, BLM, and other leftist groups.

You are right, but the last person executed for treason was early in the Civil War. A guy in New Orleans took down the American flag at the U.S. Mint. He was arrested and tried by a military tribunal and hanged at the mint a week or so later.

However there are lots of laws to put her away for life, if the government chooses to do so.
