I believe the world shutting down for Covid is unique to the time period we’re in. It wouldn’t have happened even in recent past. I will say though, the rapid vaccine development is incredible, and I have no issue with people getting it, to each their own.
I’ve never had the flu/shingles/pneumonia shots and I’m not about to have this one.
Forced vaccines. Forced masking. Forced out of work. Forced to pay huge taxes on income and gas. Gasoline engine forbidden. Energy prices sky high. Tensions with Russia. Iran preparing to have its way with us. President unfit for office. Legitimate president forced out of office. Center cities destroyed and perps not prosecuted. I’ve pondered this for quite a few months now. Trump did what he thought best to do. Could it be a mistake? Time will tell I guess.
One thing the author doesn’t mention: the shot helps against the disease (Covid) but isn’t tested against the virus (SARS-cov2). Take it if you fear the disease, but don’t think it keeps you from spreading the virus.

I was reading last week or so, there was an accident at the Wuhan lab just before the outbreak.
The same can be said about Covid: As a previous poster noted, "So, we take an experimental vaccine, for a flu-like virus that affects 8% of the population and has an overall survival rate in excess of 99%."
But as you point out, if a close friend or family member is the person who draws the winning Covid ticket, to you it feels like 100%.
