Less Than a Year After United Auto Workers Union Endorsed Biden, It Gets the First Nasty Surprise of His Presidency

How did they not see this coming?

United Auto Workers slammed Ford Motor Company’s plan to move construction of a new plant to Mexico rather than keep it in Ohio in a letter to the automaker Friday.

“We 100% reject the company’s decision to put corporate greed and more potential profits over American jobs and the future of our members. We expect the company to honor its contractual commitments to this membership and when it fails to do so we will take action,” Gerald Kariem, vice president of the union’s Ford sector, said in the letter. “We are intensely exploring our options at this time.”

And who was it on here that kept trying to protect the UAW, claiming that they were PRO-Trump.. (and insulting any FReeper that spoke against them)..

Just what do you think Union Leaders see as their primary responsibility?

-- It isn't jobs
-- It isn't worker health and safety
-- It isn't pay
-- It isn't benefits
-- It isn't opportunity

Having studied unions (as a bit of a twisted hobby of sorts) for the past half century the one thing that is irrefutable about unions: Union Leaders see their No. 1 priority -- their No. 1 responsibility, a duty above all else: Preservation of the union.

Don’t you mean preservation of their positions as head of the union ?

No because most — especially at the upper levels — have their positions locked in for the next election if not for life. (Sound familiar?) Cheers!

The UA leads the Way! That was our motto when I was am member of the United Association of Plumber and Steamfitters.

Now it should be the UA regrets the Day!

But the problem with that theory is plumbers and pipefitters are making close to $60/hour so between universal basic income, unemployment, or welfare, their not going to be able to afford all of their toys they currently have.

You can buy non-UAW cars made in red states, if you don't mind buying foreign brands.

Pipeline, cars, importing illegals to take everyone’s jobs, lockdowns because of a plandemic, millions lost jobs and savings all because of the democrat party.
You voted for them and here are the results!

“Where will Ford get workers to fill the jobs there?”

Probably mostly robots, to assemble the Chinese made components...

One things for sure - no more union to deal with.

Yes.

Gerry Kariem needs to shut it, and learn to code.
