Mayor Bill de Blasio on Sunday called on Gov. Andrew Cuomo to resign from his “almost imperial governorship” — insisting it will help save lives.
“He should resign right now because he’s holding up our effort to fight COVID. He’s literally in the way of us saving lives right now,” de Blasio insisted in a fiery interview on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”
“Andrew Cuomo can’t lead us into the future. We’ve got the people, the state ready to reopen, but we need to get him out of the way to do it,” the mayor said.
The mayor repeatedly took aim at his longtime foe throughout the interview, blaming him for the Empire State’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic as well as holding up vaccine supplies for the Big Apple.
He also accused him of deliberately hiding the death toll from the virus in nursing homes to keep getting millions in “campaign contributions.”
“This was a thoroughly corrupt situation, and he just needs to resign,” de Blasio said.
But Hizzoner predicted that Cuomo will not step down and will instead need to be impeached.
“I think he’ll try to hold out … I think he is used to getting things his way, and it’s been almost an imperial governorship,” de Blasio predicted.
“But I gotta tell you, the folks in this state, and the political leadership don’t believe him anymore — he doesn’t have any credibility,” de Blasio insisted.
“I think an impeachment proceeding will begin. And I think he will be impeached, and perhaps right before that, he’ll decide to resign. That’s probably the most likely outcome right now,” he predicted.

DeBlasio had to know what was going on when the hospital ship Mercy in New York harbor and the temporary hospitals set up in Central Park
(by Samaritan’s Purse, I believe) went mostly unused. He was complicit with Cuomo in sending the COVID19 patients to nursing homes.

They do because even if he resigns without question they will elect someone equally as corrupt and leftist. This crap has been going on forever.

The regime wants him out for things they have done themselves. Like I said, he needs to expose them ALL for everything they have done. It’s his only defense. Muddy the waters and threaten to expose all of the regime members-then DO IT.
He needs to take them ALL DOWN with him, including DeBlasio, Biden, the Clintons and the rest. How many women has the demented puppet handled? Probably just as many as Cuomo. If he takes the entire criminal regime down with him, at least he will have done Americans a favor inspire of the nursing home scandal.
Democrats don’t resign because of shame. If and only if there is irrefutable, indictable evidence, a willing prosecutor, a jury that can’t be bought or corrupted then and only then will a regination be offered as part of a plea agreemen. Cuomo, especially since he knows the details of the Democratic mob’s corruption schemes ( kickbacks from the nursing home debacle, the construction bribes in the construction of the Tappan Zee bridge and othe construction projects, the registering of family members as “lobbyists” to launder bribes et. etc.)is nowhere near done.
The favored technique of leftists for area pacification was pretty effective.
After chasing out the old regime they made big noises about putting someone “local” in charge.
Usually that person was the worst inmate of the local jail.
Who immediately unleashed a reign of terror on the local population, killing off those most likely to offer any resistance to the new regime.
When the locals were sufficiently beaten into submission, the party would ride in and depose this “enemy of the people” who had so horribly betrayed the people’s (party) trust hock ptui ptui we had no idea he was such a scoundrel!
Thus becoming the saviours and protectors of the people.
