Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said Thursday that she was open to a “scenario” in which the Democrat-run House of Representatives would overturn a close Republican win in Iowa’s second congressional district.
Pelosi, addressing reporters during her weekly press conference, was asked whether she could “see a scenario” in which Democrats would unseat Rep. Marianette Miller-Meeks (R-IA), who won by six votes, and replace her with Democrat Rita Hart.
As Breitbart News reported Wednesday, the Committee on House Administration voted along party lines to continue an inquiry into the congressional race — even though Miller-Meeks had been found to be the winner by state authorities following a recount and a bipartisan canvas of the vote.
Hart, who chose not to pursue legal options in Iowa but rather to appeal to the House directly under the Federal Contested Elections Act, claims that there are some 22 ballots that were not counted that show her as the winner.
The Federal Contested Elections Act allows the House to decide close congressional races on its own, beyond the courts.
Hart is represented by Democrat lawyer Marc Elias, who helped fund the fraudulent “Russia dossier” in the 2016 election and was Democrats’ leading lawyer in the 2020 election, suing in several states to overturn exiting election laws and rules.
After resisting the question as “hypothetical,” Pelosi said Thursday: “Well, I respect the work of the committee. I did see, as you saw in the press, what they decided to — and they were following my, as I read it, the requirements of the law as to how you go forward. And how you go forward is the path you’re on and we’ll see where that takes us. But there could be a scenario to that extent. Yes.”

Over the past year, they’ve made some wonderful commercial ad material for their opponents in 2022...if the opponents ever find the courage to use it.
It takes 2/3rds majority to expel a member, but in this case the member would not be expelled, but rather declared to not be the winner of the election. I have to wonder if Miller-Meeks would be required to pay back her salary from her time in office?
Statement true
Nancy loves her some precedent.
Brindisi surprisingly conceded to Tenney (NY-22), and Rose had already conceded to Malliotakis (NY-11).
Hey Nancy! Election is over! Accept the results! Otherwise, you can be removed from office for spreading misinformation.
That's not how it plays out. Meeks was 'provisionally seated'. The House need only vote a simple majority to accept the Committee report that says count ballots until Hart wins.
In 1985, McCloskey's House vote was 236 to 190 to accept the House Committee report -- after McIntyre, the Republican challenger, had been declared the winner in IN-8 by 34 votes one day after the election, and by 418 votes after a state-ordered recount -- just exactly the way Pelosi is seeking to do for Hart.
However, Pelosi made a tactical error -- in '85, the House paid both McCloskey and McIntyre until the Democrat-led House committee released their report and the House voted to accept the report 55%-45% and seat McCloskey.
Rather than hand Trump not just a lit match but the gas as well to attack Nancy for seating a Democrat who accused her state of electoral fraud, suspect Madame Defarge will instruct the House to reject the report (or even kill it in Committee) and instead find Hart a jerb in Resident Xiden's admin like Robotox did for former Rep. Rose (get this : "US Secretary of Defense for COVID-19").
“They can do what ever they want to. What the hell is anyone going to do about it?”
As we have learned with the prolonged [ >2 weeks] Shutdowns.
