“Any estimate on a Texas wall comparable to what THE REAL POTUS was going to have built?”

The Trump Program had about 250-300 miles of barrier programmed in South Texas, to build near continuous barrier from the Gulf of Mexico, to about 50 miles North of the Colombia Laredo Port of Entry (itself North of Laredo City). Mostly everything in Laredo and Southward was funded with direct Congressional appropriations. North of Laredo was diverted Military funding, which will almost certainly be revoked.

Down in the Rio Grande Valley East of McAllen, there would be a lot of the most expensive flood control levee barrier ($20-40 million per mile).

Bottom Line: If the Congressional Appropriations already authorized could be funneled through the State, the existing contracts (about 200, super high priority miles) could largely be completed (but not the 52 mile segment running North from the Colombia Laredo Port of Entry, which is of significantly lower priority).

The State of Texas could potentially “take the blame” politically, from the rabid Left Wing base of the Democrat/Communist Party.

I see one and it’s a big one, it’s called the Roosevelt Reservation but I don’t believe it will apply to Texas. Texas kept all public lands before agreeing to annexation and admittance as a state. New Mexico, Arizona and California gave up a 60 ft easement that now belongs to the federal Government.

The cost will be prohibitive to complete

Since non-border states are then freeloading if Texas picks up the cost, I would suggest countersuits against non-border states and the Fed gov to recover it. Plus I'm not sure the cost is "prohibitive," considering the cost of illegal immigration to the state in crime, public health and education.

He is pro wall and even stood behind Trump using executive powers to get it done. But he doesn’t have the talent or the will to get anything done himself. But he is out there talking about the holes in the wall and Biden stopping work - more than a lot of people are doing.

Let’s be honest, he was for the wall after he was against the wall, just like he was behind Trump after McCain checked out and he needed somebody else’s coattails to ride.

1,250 miles times $20 million per mile = ~$25 billion for the whole Texas border. But 200 miles is critical, and 200 more would do a good job.

The ~200 miles in the South (Rio Grande Valley and Laredo) which are critical (and were funded by Congress), and another 200 or so miles (Eagle Pass, Del Rio - from Laredo to Lake Amistad) would do a credible job for Texas.

Outside the miles already appropriated for by Congress, the other areas , would require less expensive barrier (~$10-20 million/mile, for super barrier), due to the terrain (lower flood control requirement).

I CANNOT imagine that the state of Texas would fail to build to the design already in-use, unless they enhanced it even more.

To continue construction, but at inferior quality would be a self-inflicted wound, and probably unrecoverable, because there would likely NEVER be funding to tear that crap out and replace it with the better design most recently emplaced.

A bunch of Blue sanctuary States will sue Texas, and the Supreme Court will rule in their favor 7-2

This would be a great optics. Give jobs to Hispanics in border counties, to build a wall that protects their own neighborhoods, and helps the whole country. Trump could go down there and hand out snacks to the workers, and say “viva la insurrection”.

Yeah, but he got on the right side and if you go back he was supporting spending money for the wall and using existing funds to build the wall at times when a lot of our people weren't, Rand Paul, Rubio, to name a couple. I'll dislike him on a lot of things, but not on wanting a wall. These politicians need our support when they do something good. If they don't get any support or just hate, then they are doing to say why am I doing all of this work for and just stop. There is a time for hating the guy and a time for showing our support.

In February of this year, 44 Democrats, including Senator Schumer voted for a bill that had $25 billion for a wall. .... Democrats want Trump to lose more than they want the country to win. pic.twitter.com/U3L7qrkQbV— Lindsey Graham (@LindseyGrahamSC) December 12, 2018

We are not going to ABANDON the wall.

We are going to BUILD the wall!— Lindsey Graham (@LindseyGrahamSC) December 23, 2018

Mr. President, the Democrats are not working in good faith with you.

Declare emergency, build the wall now.— Lindsey Graham (@LindseyGrahamSC) January 11, 2019

House Democrats’ border barrier/wall offer is PATHETIC.

I hoped that Democrats would make good faith effort to strike a deal on border barrier/wall.

Unfortunately, it seems they hate @realDonaldTrump more than they want to solve problems. pic.twitter.com/682AVr78Xq— Lindsey Graham (@LindseyGrahamSC) February 1, 2019

There is money available to President @realDonaldTrump in the current budget to move around and help build the wall.

We’d be stupid as a party not to stand behind him. ....I can’t think of a better issue to define the Democrat and Republican Party than this.#BuildTheWall pic.twitter.com/drMnkIbCFp— Lindsey Graham (@LindseyGrahamSC) February 14, 2019

I stand firmly behind President Trump’s decision to use executive powers to build the wall-barriers we desperately need.https://t.co/E2OvdT7pNo— Lindsey Graham (@LindseyGrahamSC) February 15, 2019

Big day as this Supreme Court decision will allow emergency funds to be spent on the much-needed Wall.

After this decision the Border Wall will get stronger and better.

A great week for President @realDonaldTrump!https://t.co/3b8r2KxQgD— Lindsey Graham (@LindseyGrahamSC) July 27, 2019

With no thought or care about consequences, Democrats abandoned this much needed wall just like they abandoned South Vietnam in 1974.

“If they don’t get any support or just hate, then they are doing to say why am I doing all of this work for and just stop.”

If Lindsey decides to just stop and go home to Carolina, I think that’s a good outcome for everyone.

Sorry, I think he’s a two-faced rat and I’m not going to praise him when I’m 100% certain his position is totally disingenuous.

Look for Biden & co. to sue to stop wall construction, claiming that border security is exclusively a federal issue (like 0bama did to AZ a few years back).>>> Texas can be an sanctuary state or unsanctuary state. I think the courts have allowed this sanctuary city/state crap and now it works both ways. Any state should be able to disregard any federal law.
