PORT HURON, MI -- A 31-year-old Port Huron woman shot a man in the neck Sunday morning after she claimed he tried to break into her home.
The woman’s neighbor in the 900 block of Huron Avenue in Port Huron called police at 5:07 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, to report that a disorderly male was yelling for help in the street.
Minutes later, a female resident of a home on the block, called 911 stating she had shot someone trying to break into her home. She was home alone with a small child, according to a Port Huron Police Department news release.
Port Huron Police arrived and found a 35-year-old male Richmond resident shot in the neck at the corner of Huron Avenue and Beers Street.
Officers provided medical attention until Tri-Hospital EMS arrived and transported him to McLaren Port Huron Hospital, police said. He was later transferred to McLaren Macomb Hospital and is in stable condition.
No additional injuries were reported. The female shooter was interviewed and released. She did not know the male intruder, police said.

Dude needs help AT 5AM. agitated. afeared, afraid, anxious. Woman alone with newborne, answers the door, gets anxuius shoots da guy, hits him in da neck.
Hard to figure out who went foshizzle on this situation.
She needs to work on her aiming and grouping.
Just a reminder. Do not call 911 and say you shot someone. Call and say someone was shot.
Let your lawyer do the talking.
What the hell is the delay in charging? The bastard was attempting to break into the house, the woman’s statement should be enough to charge him. She is completely justified. If an investigation proves different, alter the charges.
“Just a reminder. Do not call 911 and say you shot someone. Call and say someone was shot.”
And remember that, in general, whoever calls 911 first wins, although in this case, it doesn’t apply as much.
She won’t have a problem, as the Democrats haven’t yet outlawed the ownership of most firearms, although the 500,000 Republicans who listened to Lin Wood and boycotted the Georgia Senate runoffs to ‘teach the GOP a lesson’ may have given the Democrats the boost they need to soon accomplish this long-standing goal.
“Maybe this has to do with the fact that people aren’t paying their rent and are scared to pay their rent and so they go out, and they need to feed their child and they don’t have money,” Ocasio-Cortez continued, “so they feel like they either need to shoplift some bread or go hungry.”

Yep - but we have the usual suspects making definitive statements despite the dearth of information...
Mama bear with a gun should be avoided. Lesson of the day.

Yeah I remember all the looting of the local Bakeries. they bypassed the Nike and Apple stores and went straight to the Breadsmith.
Many parts in Texas, a injured actor is not arrested until after release from the hospital.
If arrested prior to medical treatment, the municipal agency will be on the hook for medical payments since the actor is in their charge.
Double tap, no problem, it's only about another buck and a half.
God made men.
Samuel Colt made them equal.
Yes, they did appear to target the more high-priced items that you mention. However, I believe this was only so they could trade those items in for cash to buy lots more bread than they could carry in one or two trips to the food isle.
Cops are on to that one. They view both callers with equal suspicion.
“Yeah, police? Just wanted to let you know that someone just died from a sudden case of weight gain from a bunch of bullets going into his face. Just a heads up. Have a nice day.”
