Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday announced a new program that will require New Yorkers to show a COVID-19 “passport” to enter sports arenas, theaters, and other businesses.
The plan establishes an “Excelsior Pass” which will use secure technology to prove that a state resident has been vaccinated against COVID-19 or has had a recent negative test. Sites included in the rollout plan include Madison Square Garden and the Barclays Center, both sports and entertainment venues.
“Similar to a mobile airline boarding pass, individuals will be able to either print out their pass or store it on their smartphones using the Excelsior Pass’s ‘Wallet App,'” according to a press release on the governor’s webpage. “Each pass will have a secure QR code, which venues will scan using a companion app to confirm someone’s COVID health status.”
The program is already underway as the pass was tested at Tuesday night’s New York Rangers hockey game at Madison Square Garden (MSG), the New York Post reported.

Because there are vaccines that must be sold.
Many will qualify for the “Gold Star” passports that Wilhelm and Cuomo will issue to special groups.
Yep, always see who is profiting. Can’t find them all though, because money will be/always is funneled through some companies to others, etc. and silent partners, etc.
Yep!
No they don’t have that power, says the Bill of Rights.
Yep, it is EVIL!!
I’m not planning on getting any of them, actually.
So much for HIPPA
The ones profiting will be the stadiums, theaters and businesses who will have a lot more customers than they would without this measure.
It may not seem that way if you spend a lot of time on FR but there are many, many people who don't want to risk getting Covid.
It wasn't government mandates that killed movie theatres, it was choices by the consumers.
Why all this overkill? I was given a simple vaccination card that I keep in my wallet.
You obviously like communism, if I read your post correctly.
Apparently you didn't. I was pointing out that the consumers will decide when the economy gets back to normal and this will help.
Where is Cuomo’s tattoo?
Bill of Rights FIRST wrote: “No they don’t have that power, says the Bill of Rights.”
The Bill of Rights is part of the Constitution and the judges have the power to interpret the Constitution. The judges have said that isn’t in the Constitution.
These people have lost their minds Jim.
It doesn’t matter what the “judges” say nor how they try to change (not supposedly “interpret”) the Bill of Rights and Constitution.
All so called “rulings”, “laws”, etc. against the Bill of Rights and Constitution should automatically be NULL AND VOID.

Try using that as a defense when you’re called into court.
Yeah, really! They will have to learn they are not our masters one day. Good luck to all of us, right? ;)
If private actors are the ones who require the disclosure/proof before granting access to their private facilities, might the state avoid Constitution “entanglements”? Not sure I agree with this theory, just tossing it out there.
